  • I came here late on sunday morning with a friend as the breakfast club was rammed

  • There was a little wait but we were soon sat down n a corner of this cozy

  • Their options for brunch are not the most extensive but i was very happy with my pancakes and my friend loved the bacon sarnie

  • The service was also very good

  • All in all it is a nice place to drop by on a sunday afternoon

  • The floors and walls are wood paneled

  • The fixtures are retro and inventive and there is the occasional fur or mounted deer head to remind you where you are

  • Fortunately for Elk in the Woods there are plenty of people to fit the bill around the Camden Passage and you may wait a while to be seated

  • The menu is a little restricted but the food is great and the coffee is excellent

  • It is not the most remarkable but there is a lot of seating so you may have a chance to be seated in less than 10 minutes

  • I went there for brunch and had the english muffins with poached eggs and spinach

  • It was very good but I still was a bit hungry by the end of the meal

  • I went back one day with a friend that told me they had some great cocktails and I was not disappointed

  • The cocktails have funny names and are all delicious

  • Prawn and squid with caper sauce very nice

  • You feel the relaxed and comfortable atmosphere as you walk in with the wooden walls and antique chairs and tables

  • We came on a Wednesday night along the Camden passage which is pretty quiet compared to when I've walked along on the weekend

  • We were promptly seated and given menus and was given water and asked if we wanted any drinks whilst we explored the menu

  • Tried the elk kebab and ribs at first interesting with the smokiness of the elk and a tint of zestiness of the ribs but after a while it was just chewy and I wasn't enjoying it anymore

  • I was quite disappointed as i was looking forward to some tender meat

  • Even the chips were chewy and the zucchini and fennel salad had big strips of lemon zest that I avoided eating

  • I wasn't impressed by the food maybe there are better dishes there and I ordered too much meat

  • If you want to relax and chat with a friend over a drink and small snacks I would recommend The Elk in The Woods (Angel) but for an actual dinner

  • If you are ready to indulge in a peaceful dinner with all your senses

  • I would not bother making a reservation if you are in the mood for a venue of fame and cocktails

  • As the venue is not for "

  • I can emancipate as once you are in the Camden passage

  • Entering The Elk and the Woods is like entering a cave

  • Atmosphere is created by the low lighting and brick walls

  • Are decorated with mirrors and a mounted moose head

  • The Elk in The Woods (Angel) is a dark and relaxing haven

  • The breakfasts are huge and well worth the £

  • The mains that are served here vary between deeply meaty dishes of lamb cutlets and duck breasts

  • All of which are equally satisfying

  • The fact that it is always full is only further confirmation that The Elk in The Woods (Angel) should be visited

  • The croissants are definitely fresh and come with butter/jam

  • The girls who worked in there were all very friendly and happy to chat when they came over to the table

  • Only negative comment I would make is if you have long legs then be careful which table you choose as some of them are very low but they are happy to find you another one if possible

  • Waiting staff is unknowledgeable and make you feel like you are disturbing them
