Efes (Shadwell)

• Great Restaurant and great food and the people are friendly with excellent service
• Efes (Shadwell) has super tasty Turkish food with delightful service
• The bread and dips at the start are a particular plus
• The restaurant has great value for money however was quite loud and difficult to chat across the table
• You sometimes get a free tea at the end of the meal and if you are a regular visitor some baklava too
• My companion and I were on a hunt for a nice place to eat and we stumbled across Efes (Shadwell)
• Their takeaway menu was very varied and quite extensive
• In case you are looking forward to a sumptuous meal then you should visit Efes (Shadwell)
• The ambience is just perfect for an dine in with a group of friends
• The servers are efficient and do their job pretty well
• Have had their yogurt Kebabs and grilled meat along with other dishes
• If you are in the mood to try out some good food then this is a good option
• One surprising thing is that they also serve rice with yoghurt
• On this particular day that I visited the service was a little slow and the waiter forgot a majority of our order
• Probably that was because the place was a bit too crowded that day
• They serve everyone complimentary hot fresh turkish bread with some dips and a big bowl of salad all of which tastes good and can fill you up some
• Lots of meat is what you get
• They have kebab platters that are awesome to be shared by groups of 3 or more
• The way they set it out for us to carry was commendable

• Their platter is really good but pricey and the service has been decent the few times I went but I have never been wowed by the place but generally wouldn't advise anyone against going there
• Nothing wrong with anything at Efes but I never have Efes (Shadwell) top of my list when wanting to go for Turkish

• There's good food but sitting at a table near the front at the entrance with the counter beside you feels more like a fast food joint request to be seated at the back for a nicer experience
• It's aptly located and is the kind of restaurant you wouldn't avoid noticing
• Unlike other restaurants they server a warm sesame soft bread with two yummy dips
• Red is a bit hot but very delicious but my favorite is the yogurt and herb dip
• Well cooked chicken in a tomato sauce with a giant dolup of creamy white herb dip
• The best bit about chicken Iskender is the chunky bits of warm bread in the sauce soaked in juices
• Lovely warm bread with spicy minced lab in the middle
• I want to be more experimental with the menu and maybe I will next time
• The rich taste of chef recommended juicy kabab and beyti is still refresh in my memories
• Efes (Shadwell) made me feel very weird mainly because it was so cramped up I felt like I was eating with the strangers beside me

• Because we were a large group the organizers just ordered a bunch of sharing platters which I didn't find uniformly good
• Turkish bread was fine but not great
• The chilli sauce was excellent but the other creamy sauce was disappointingly yogurt based instead of a Levantine toum sauce
• It was dressed with some vinaigrette and contained shredded red cabbage
• It did need the chilli sauce as it was otherwise a little dry
• Sharing platters of mixed mezze were next to arrive
• The saksuka on it was excellent but most of the other elements (hummous
• Patlican ezme) were just okay whereas the Russian salad was yuck
• Lamb and chicken doner) was tough and overcooked
• My favourite cuisine and this restaurant is the best Turkish restaurant in London
• Very good hygienic environment and the taste of each food dish is very delicious
• I have tried everything over here and my favourite is mixed kabab
• Definitely one of the best turkish restaurants in London

• The donner in general from any Efes branch is very bland and dry
• Their freshly squeezed orange juice is really good
• Was pleasantly surprised with the vegetarian options
• Ordered a veg mezze platter which came with freshly baked bread
• The quantity was quite a lot and more than sufficient for light eaters
• ALso tried the baklava which was mouth watering tasty
• Their mocktails are so delicious
• The group has further expanded with even more locations
• Turkish grills are one of my favourite meals I get to take away
• Travelling to Hackney is still a bit out of my way
