Maedah Grill (Whitechapel)

• Took my family there very busy but the food is standard although I would recommend the Lamuhcin (Mince Meat bread)
• The restaurant is easily found just off the main road coming out from aldgate east station
• ) My personal favourite is the Iskender Kebab
• I have frequented many times and one thing I like the most is the selection of after dinner beverages
• Many great smoothies and mocktails are available for those with a sweet tooth
• Maedah Grill is a pleasant Turkish place located right behind the East London Mosque
• It was good quality stuff made live and with care in the open air kitchen this isn't the stuff you'd find in a kebab shop
• The external sinks were an indication of how important hygiene was in Maedah Grill (Whitechapel)
• All in all Maedah Grill is a top class joint and a definite alternative to any particular crowded places nearby
• Because thats the best way to describe it
• Bearing in mind that Maedah Grill (Whitechapel) is opposite one of the biggest Mosques in London you can imagine how busy it was
• Starter was a spicy fired hot wing with some other mush on the side
• The chicken and lamb were tough and not tenner nor juicy
• The area we were in was hot and the AC didn't work
• Have been a few times since it opened with family and friends
• I have been here twice and the food is quite good here and it all mostly tastes the same
• The manager however was really sweet
• He provided us with some free Turkish sweets and some delicious tea
• The service for me was quite pleasant
• My experience as a first time customer at this restaurant was not at all pleasing
• The food was not prepared with attention and seemed over done
• What was truly annoying was that the service was not up to the mark too
• The waiter was rushing us and unnecessarily pretended to be busy
• I would like to point out that the service is always a bit lacking but quite understandable because the restaurant is always packed
• I have tried almost every dish on their menu and each one is consistent in taste and flavors
• I would recommend their sarma kebab which were just delectable and also generous portions
• Lamb chops were really good too
• What makes up going back for more is the fact that Maedah Grill (Whitechapel) has an essence of perfection to itself
• A must try dish here has got to be the vegetable kebabs which are oh so impeccable
• I was a little skeptical but was surprised when i tried the food at this Turkish restaurant
• The meat is full of flavors and is cooked to perfection
• The portions are also generous with swift service and a lovely over all experience
• I did not have the best time at this restaurant
• The menu serves Turkish cuisine but the food which was served was not as described
• The dishes were marked spicy but the taste was not even close to any degree of hotness

• Their kitchen is usually opened till late and i always order their mix kebab platter and cacik as starters which are always consistent in flavors and simply delicious
• The hummus and tabbouleh are all yummy and nice

• I have never had a good experience at this restaurant and I only visit it as it is next to the mosque

• With an attitude and the mannerisms with which they are running the place
• The food was of decent quality but the that put us off was the attitude of staff and higher authorities
• The staff was rude and lacked training in the area of customer and the higher authorities were also reluctant to admit some of their mistakes that their staff made during the service
• Smaller portions and food is not as good as it used to be
• Right next to East London Masjid and with no competition
• Plus the area is full of people who know nothing about great Turkish food
• My favourite dish to order is the Maedah Kofte
• The food didn't seem like genuine Turkish food and it was fairly average
• In my opinion there was a hype about some of it's merits that made it very popular
• A minutes walk from Tayyabs (sometimes good for when Tayyabs is too busy) and the fact that it is a Halal restaurant behind one of the busiest mosques in the UK
• Some weeks ago I was persuaded into giving it another chance
• The other dish ordered was the Adana Kebab
• I tried a bit of the Adana Kebab and again it was very average
• The lamb chops were not enough to persuade me to be there on occasions every few months
• I think Maedah will remain a good venue to host gatherings with okay ish food
• Those who know their Turkish know that to get the best experience
• Hackney or those in North London will give you that but Maedah is decent enough
• Their food has always been a hit more than a miss with me let's call it 9/10
• Nearly every Turkish has a signature mixed grill and Maedah's is not really that great have had way better platters elsewhere but Maedah's mixed grill for one is quite filling and decent
• The mixed grill and plate shawarma are my favourite dishes here
• It's chicken cube marinated with salad and chips
• It was amazingly cooked and everyone was jealous of this dish
• The waiter was very friendly and even if some mistakes happen
• He did serve us with a professional manner and give us an outstanding customer service

• I love my meat and chicken so this was right up my street
• Maedah Grill (Whitechapel) located in whitechapel looked really interested with menu but unfortunately didn't taste like that
• We ordered calamari which was too oily and not cooked perfectly and then we ordered mix kebabs served with rice and salad
• Only a few short minutes from my house and I am shocked that I have never been here the mixed grill is delicious as is the minced meat pizza type thing
• One downfall is the lack of bread they provide as I loooove bread at Turkish restaurants
• Maedah has helpful staff but the food is not that great
• The service is quick and friendly even if the place is packed
• If you're in the neighbourhood give this one a try if you are lusting for a lot of meat at great prices
• This was my first experience with Turkish cuisine that too in a foreign land
• I hesitantly tried a dish called Lahmacun which was basically a lamb dish
• I could not believe that it was much tastier than the dishes I had ordered
• I do not remember the names of all those dishes but lamb dishes were much tastier
• We found the service provided had deteriorated and was now very bad

• Only when we ordered coke was the water served and then the coke
• When I went up and complained to the manager I was brushed off
• The food also was not as good as previously experienced

• The time frame between 2 visits were roughly 2 years apart and the service was really bad and food horrible
• It was busy which I guess is a good sign
• I kid you not the bread that was brought out was not fresh
• We asked for jug water but was told we could only have bottled water

• Waiters were hard to get a hold on when something was required at the table
• To bring the change back to the table and just to make a point I had to remind him as I was walking out the door
• In a polite manner I informed the waiter who was taking payment about the lack of quality of the food
• I recall coming here in the past and things were not that bad
• Its seems that with financial success
• I ordered lahmachun for starters and it was not fresh and stale like and seemed as if it was reheated just to be served
• The waiters were hard to get hold of and they several times did not respond to our needs after we requested them
• By the time the rest of us were finishing off our food we realised that her food weren't going to come at all
• The restaurant is located in a muslim area ( whitechapel ) in front of a big mosque
