  • There are some restaurants that shower you with generosity

  • For the pittance they charge is something approaching miraculous

  • The reason you don't leave feeling like you've been metaphorically hung upside down and shaken until all your money falls out is because the food

  • Service and atmosphere are decent enough for it to have been worth the outlay

  • Obviously there are exceptions

  • Anywhere that doesn't make you feel welcome or valued is failing on a fundamental level

  • A thimble full of seared cod's roe was genuinely impressive

  • A fresh zing of the sea tempered with a soft smokiness from the pan

  • Four thin slices of salmon sashimi nevertheless had a good showing of stripy fat and I think they make their own wasabi because it was sweeter than other examples I've tried

  • Takoyaki (deep fried octopus balls) seemed to contain no octopus whatsoever and were just little hot sacks of bechamel £

  • Chicken karaage was a complete disaster

  • Presented don't ask me why with cherry tomatoes and basil as if the chef had started trying to make an Italian chicken Parmigiana then remembered where he worked

  • Coupled with the horrible seating arrangements (choose from cheek to jowl with your neighbours on a splinter ridden wooden bench

  • I had the rice bowl with salmon and avocado good quality fish

  • Rice very nicely cooked and the portion size was good for the price

  • Very small place with maximum 30 seats

  • Interesting menu with some original bits like

  • They will look at you like you are from another planet

  • Wonderful Takoyaki(one of the best in London) and good sushi

  • I took 2 times(cause I though was a mistake the first time) the red bean Mochi

  • The only way how to cause something like that is to take a frozen Mochi and put it in the microwave for 30"

  • This authentic Japanese is the closest blast back to my own experience being in Japan

  • Respectful waitresses who were charmingly keen to please whizz around the tiny restaurant amongst the wooden tables with delicate dishes of tapas size and perfect for sharing

  • The ordering system is very 'Ikea' esque

  • The environment is very relaxed and intimate

  • Post roast sensation we were modestly charged only about £

  • Whilst the teriyaki octopus was refreshingly different to the usual

  • Chicken kaarage was a combination of wonderfully tender chicken

  • This unpretentious restaurant is simply good food

  • I was eager to test out the place as Japanese tapas itself is a pretty new concept in London

  • The place certainly is reminiscent of Japan

  • Not only due to the size and the fact that you share a cubic meter with 5 other people

  • My co foodie had a bit of a chat with him and was told to look him up in Sidney

  • The Calpico I had was great &ndash

  • This one was fizzier than most which just added that extra oomph to what is a usually delicious beverage produced by lactic acid fermentation

  • The tempura batter was crisp and nice

  • The chicken teriyaki was amazing &ndash

  • One or two over salted dishes and the fish roe thing we ordered was just nasty
