The Delaunay (Covent Garden)

• It is very popular with people who like eating out in classy ambiances
• The restaurant is lined with low lit tables in a period room
• Hotdogs and steak are placed alongside each other
• The service was outstanding too
• It can be expensive (although the menu is so varied that you can eat relatively cheaply too) but certainly it's a price worth paying
• Everything was done to a very high quality
• I had waffles and bacon with maple syrup
• Unlike most of the places in London this was real maple syrup
• My friend the Hollander was fresh and creamy a really lovely texture
• The service was excellent attentive without being intrusive and the food was delicious
• I had the cod with lentils which was superb
• The ambience was also very special
• The menu is incredibly appealing (I think half our dining time was spent deciding from the menu)
• Have perhaps fallen out of favour with London diners for being a tad dated (Beef Stroganoff
• In the end a classic dish is a classic dish
• The Delaunay is certainly the perfect setting to take a journey back in (culinary) time
• Luxurious and matched wonderfully with an excellent Gruner Veltliner from their Germanic tinged wine list
• The schnitzel was really disappointing
• The starters were much better overall
• We enjoyed both the Borscht (served with Horseradish instead of the more authentic Smetana) and the polenta with mushrooms
• With the table next to us having finished (a three course meal like ours) and left by the time we were ordering our desserts

• It has a grandeur and magic that makes you feel like it is a special occasion
• I fell in love with their high ceilinged and airy but luxurious dining rooms and glamorous cafes
• Are so commonplace there and this fills me with that same sense of magic
• I think it is more the setting and ambience that keep drawing me back and I do wonder if I have just gone there for the wrong meal
• Staff are always courteous and service is provided with a smile
• Brunch all of which were wonderful experiences

• To start I had the eggs benedict and that was really great
• It was certainly one of the best egg benedict have I had
• With me opting for the pancakes with blueberries and my friend the one with bacon
• The pancakes were delicious and just what we needed

• The Delaunay serves amazing viennoiserie and is home to my favourite brekky counter
• The almond croissant is one of the pricey ones but I reckon it's one of the best in town
• The pastry is crisp and flaky and the filling has a good consistency

• It's a sausage stuffed with cheese and wrapped in bacon

• Food was decent enough with a few hits and maybe a miss here or two but there's a lot to choose from and I've only heard mostly positive reviews

• Brunch has always been a really exciting meal for me and the experience of having to share it with two awesome ladies (and cheeky drinks) made it all pleasurable
• I had breakfast there this morning and it was quite busy for a Friday morning
• Started with an espresso which I would say is one of the best in London
• I had a potato rosti with fried egg and bacon which was delicious with runny yolks and crispy rosti and bacon
• One of my friend had the egg Benedict which according to him is the best he tasted so far in London
• So overall the food was really good and reasonably priced for the quality and service
• My first experience with The Delaunay and what an experience it was
• He brought me to the entrance and we were greeted by a lovely doorman
• The restaurant was full of people
• He wasn't able to get a reservation and took a chance regardless and luckily there was a table for us
• We were seated and all I could do was keep looking around
• A thyme beurre blanc (butter based sauce) and I ordered Fillet of Sea Bass served with grilled fennel
• The sea bass was excellently done
• The sea trout was also well done and the butter sauce went well with it even though I'm not a butter and fish person
• We had a chat with him and he told us he is half German and half Colombian (a new combination for me)
• The black and white puddings topped with a fried duck egg seemed the obvious choice
• This was pure protein on a plate and washed down with plenty of coffee and more toast than I have ever seen
• The breakfast menu contains a large selection of Vienoisserie and a coffee menu which includes Wiener Kaffee (large espresso with whipped cream) and Einspä
• Nner (a long espresso with steamed milk and whipped cream)
• Waffles and bacon sandwiches are all present and correct
• 20 and the Champagne version is just £
• What you get is a fine spread in an even finer location and the most delicious Battenberg I have ever tasted &ndash
• La carte menu is certainly worth investigating
• Order Eggs Benedict/Florentine/Royale/Whatever they decide to call eggs on a muffin covered in hollandaise sauce and accompany that with prosecco/Champagne
• So today I was expecting to repeat the experience
• In my opinion it was too expensive
• I would be better off with same shake shack fries and cheeseburger and pay half price
• Ideal for business lunches or even a meal with the family
• The Delaunay (Covent Garden) is exquisite I had dinner here on a Wednesday evening and it was bustling
• The decoration is beautiful and the service is great
• The portions were bigger than expected
• The pancakes were light and fluffy
• We washed them down with a pot of English Breakfast tea and some freshly squeezed orange juice
• This restaurant is a casual easy restaurant great for business lunches
• I suggested that we go there for dinner with a group of colleagues
• The desserts were extremely good too
• Serving size was generous but I found the flavours weren't rich enough
• Dessert was much better loved the black forest gateau and the fried pancake with raisins and plum compote
• The restaurant itself was beautifully set up and people all dressed up and looked very classy
• The service was great and the salads tasty
• S a bit formal but actually the restaurant was buzzy and alive with all sorts of different people
• Everything was outstanding especially the aroma radiating from the rose tea
• The grapefruit was fresh and my companion ordered two hot chocolates as it was that intense
• The fish and chips were crunchy and delicious with a thick serving of tartar sauce that was literally bottomless
• The Pancakes are the highlight without a doubt they are served in such a way that you marvel at the appearance but when you taste the flavour combinations you are beyond satisfied

• It did not take long before the morning came and I was prepared to eat
• An elegant top class establishment with suited up waitstaff in Convent Garden

• Everything was really good

• Staff is polite but the service is not perfect
• The meals took a long time to be served and the wiener caffe was almost cold
• The Delaunay is a very civilised option for a leisurely weekend lunch/brunch
• The Vienna inspired menu is full of tempting options
• A side dish of potato salad (young potatoes with a mustard sauce)
• They went well with a carafe of Tokaji Furmint wine
• Starting with The Delaunay will leave you with a positive first impression
• Also foods are delicious and they know what they cook
• Unfortunately the meat wasn't Halaal so all I could have was the seafood
• That the friend I went with (who has the same taste in food as I do)
• Tried the beef stroganoff and said it was the best and most comforting one they've ever had
• And the French bread is amaaaaaazing
• A side of fresh cut strawberries I was charged 7 pounds
• The weekend is flooded with people
• Staff were welcoming and service was great not to mention the great poached eggs with avocados and cherry tomatoes
• The attendant attended to me decently and they were all nice people
• Amazing space with one of the best brunch I had in London
• Nice location with very good service
• The ambience is very elegant
• Proper German fair for those who like the sausages and sauerkraut and the service was on the dot
• Saturday morning brunch is a wonderful way to start the weekend
• You could really end up enjoying the ambience of the cafe which was primarily why I decided to enter when I first walked by
• The European style cafe is perfect for all occasions &
• Well today I went to this restaurant and I must say that this is one of the best restaurant in this area
• At first I was in dilemma whether to visit this outlet or not but my decision to visit this outlet was right

• When we entered the restaurant we were amazed to see the environment and theme of the restaurant
