Chak 89 (Mitcham)

• The restaurant is spacious and seating is available most of the time without having to wait
• This I felt was good in a sense as it meant that everyone got a good amount of everything without making a mess and without wasting excess food
• The food provided was good in taste and spices were such that would be appropriate for all types of people if you wanted your food to be more spicy
• Overall great experience and atmosphere was appealing too
• The relaxed atmosphere and beautiful decor also makes for a great dinner setting with family and friends for a special occasion
• I went there with my family for dinner
• One of the best Indian cuisine restaurants
• We ordered green olive and peri peri naans with Quorn mince curry as main and tandoori mushrooms
• Very pleased with the taste and service
• Slow service and taste of most dishes was almost the same
• One of the best tastes around
• I went to Chak89 for a family meal and we were all so pleased with the food
• The staff made sure we were never without a drink and we didn't have to keep waiting on staff to see to us between meals
• My favorite was Gobi Manchurian
• The only thing I would suggest is more branches
• The walls are covered with photos of celebrities from Bollywood
• The collection is very impressive
• They could add a plate with the celebrity names for a few whose signatures aren't very clear and whose names are at a the tip of the tongue but can't be remembered
• The restaurant is lavishly spread out and impressively decorated with lots of chandeliers
• The barman was not very friendly and lacked the style which a barman should have
• The bar menu (cocktail list) is limited but the mocktail list seems to be more innovative
• It was a Tuesday evening and probably that is why the restaurant was empty
• We were a group of 5 people and the restaurant only had 2 other occupied tables with 2 people on each
• I decided to order a pimms with lemonade with fresh fruits but no fruits were available apart from lemon and mint disappointed
• The menu is not very different as compared to what is available at other restaurants
• The bhindi was crispy but should have been served with a better chutney
• The naans were served a little while after the starters arrived but were all very soft
• The veg kheema was very tasty and had the perfect blend of flavour
• I've been a regular for the last few years and the great thing about Chak89 is the constantly of the food and service
• The starters are amazing especially the Lamb Chops
• Secondly there is a way of speaking to your customer
• So a customer for 8pm is more important then the one who booked for 6
• Bottom line is being a very very regular customer with this restaurant whom in past I have recommended people to use them
• If Chak 89 is really about service for its Bollywood and celebrities then for sure it's just a show off
• Was here for a Labour Party fundraiser and we were served a set menu consisting of Onion Bhaji
• The mains we were served Pilau rice
