  • Chai ki offers up Indian dishes with some sort of attempted flair

  • We went there soon after opening (and before it was even listed on Zomato) for a quick dinner and

  • Could have done with a bit more salt) or the unusual Hyderabadi Duck

  • Their veggie options are quite numerous and sound exciting too (this coming from a carnivore)

  • All nice with a good amount of spice (but the portions are rather small)

  • We thought this was a good breakfast option when you don't want to queue for the Breakfast Club next door

  • Well finding near superior indian taste amidst awesome urbane decor with industrial lighting is not easy

  • Chai ki has managed to impress big time with their food

  • Service in London is great as such

  • Kovalam Beach cocktail will entice your soul with it's soothing flavor in a summer noon

  • Konkan Chicken comes with steamed basmati rice and tasted great

  • Malabar Paratha jelled with each other fantastically

  • While Burnt Chili Chicken was the show stopper

  • The only drawback was the sitting

  • Would have been 100% perfect if tables were not shared

  • The cooking concept is similar to Roti Chai

  • Mostly Indian street food in an impressive spacious dining room with a toddy shop bar

  • The restaurant also serves breakfast which can be appealing to the local workers when you are after something different to your standard British/ European style breakfast

  • An extensive wine list and some very interesting and creative cocktails that are inspired by South Asian flavours such as the chai &

  • The instant winner on the night was the dahi puri

  • The crunchy semolina shells were so light and crispy with a cool and refreshing yoghurt resting with nutty tamarind

  • The mild spicy pulled pork paratha was also excellent

  • Tender meat with the freshness of the coconut mixed wonderfully with the chilli and curry leaf

  • Just as good was the calamari

  • Main dish of coconut prawns was a real full flavour dish

  • It had a wonderful mild spicy aroma with rich and creamy textures

  • It was not overpowering with the coconut milk

  • Finely blended in with the turmeric and the sweet prawns

  • The weak link on the night was the duck porridge

  • While I did not hve a problem with the flavour

  • The texture was far too thick and heavy which was hard for me to consume

  • The mango kulfi ice cream lollipop was very creamy and buttery with the sourness of the exotic fruit adding a great balance

  • This sister venue to Roti Chai in Marylebone is a spacious all day Indian restaurant and toddy shop bar

  • Concrete walls and hanging lights all combined with a bright colour palate to make an extremely inviting restaurant space

  • I tried the paneer starter which was similar to a stir fry with a paneer in it and it's too spicy for my liking

  • Then I had the chicken curry which was okay but doesn't blow my mind away

  • No one seemed to care about explaining the cuisine or dish before I order and the selection of menu is very chicken oriented (for main course)

  • Hard not to compare it with dishoom although they do different type of food but I much prefer dishoom

  • This modern Indian restaurant is just what that concrete jungle needed to add a bit of spice

  • The first impression of the food was outstanding

  • The place was bustling with people when we entered

  • The level 0 is quite big but still lacks space between tables

  • The service was quick too and professional

  • Thick sambhar served with 3 idlis and a tomato chutney

  • Maybe the Londoners prefer it this way but to a desi indian like me it was a bit too much

  • So not noisy but I was told in the most ridiculous way ever that they have no child policy

  • Anyways just because I was getting extremely overwhelmed

  • I appreciate if this was a gourmet restaurant and I will be disturbing others

  • This is a bloody loud restaurant with 100's of seats

  • S great for both a quick lunch with the team or a chill catch up with a friend

  • Cor is crisp and modern with enough character to set it apart from your typical suit haunt and the staff are friendly and always ready with a recommendation when asked

  • I wouldn't say Chai Ki is an indian restaurant but an indian inspired restaurant or maybe it's my definition of indian that is a little bit distorted

  • The calamari was our favourite

  • The coorgi pork and chicken naan were good and flavourful but proved to be a little bit too spicy for us after a while (it's that kind of heat that builds slowly and steadily)

  • We ended up also ordering about 5 baskets of naan to try and tame the spiciness it worked and the naan was also delicious

  • The service is the only thing preventing me from rating Chai Ki higher

  • Not to mention there are far too many waiters walking around looking completely clueless

  • Food is delicious which is what the main selling point along with fancy cocktails to go

  • It is owned by same company as Roti Chai which is close to Oxford Street

  • Went there with bunch of friends and had pretty much every thing as menu is limited

  • Tried Burnt Chill Chicken which was good and other dishes were average

  • Only saving grace is good location and nice decor from inside

  • S actually an equal sized section at the back of the restaurant which is facing the water &ndash

  • I was fully satisfied with the starters and mains and one of the desserts was to die

  • Chocolate Brownies with Vanilla Ice Cream and Coffee sauce

  • While the vanilla Ice cream with coffee sauce was delicious

  • The brownie itself was slightly too hard for my liking

  • Deliciously creamy cheesecake with a hint of citrus and vanilla with a crunchy buttery biscuit base (to quote Greg Wallace) and some fresh berries to finish it all off

  • Has launched a series of Monday Mash Up special events pairing London brewed craft beers with dishes from its Chai Ki Toddy Shop bar menu

  • My memories of India are ones of sensory overload &ndash

  • I've heard that the Todi here is a must try but I didn't really dare

  • The ambience is great and the service is good

  • Chai Ki (Canary Wharf) really lives up to the expectations when you go with the intent of having some good Indian food in a fine dine atmosphere

  • What I like most about Chai Ki is that they have focused on keeping a limited menu but everything that they offer is done to perfection

  • Coconut prawns and malabar parantha were delightful

  • The malai cheesecake was awesome too

  • They do customise the food and the presentation to suit the English palate but the effect is completely acceptable

  • Negatives Ridiculously over priced for the quantity of food that is being served

  • You might enjoy when you are in the mood to try out different dishes but when you are looking for a satisfied tummy rather than a happy tongue

  • The butter chicken we ordered was in a very big dish but had around 4/5 pieces of actual chicken

  • I have heard that their are two menus and the other can be placed at the bar and differs from the restaurant menu

  • It had a balanced taste that was good enough for the brits as well the Indians the team

  • Ghosht dish was really spectacular

  • The restaurant is usually closed on sundays

  • We were offered the bar so we can have some quick nibbles and finger food along with their drinks menu

  • Nevertheless Chai Ki (Canary Wharf) had nice music and great ambience with dim lights and tall wooden chairs and tables

  • Naturally there were limited veg options from their already limited nibble menu

  • Tried their Bhel Puri and it was out of the world and went for a second time

  • Papdi and sev is worth a try

  • The idli sambar was not upto the mark and wouldn't convince south indians born and raised eating ildli dosas

  • The staffs were friendly and orders were served quickly within minutes after we placed them

  • I recommend Chai Ki (Canary Wharf) as a try if you are looking for a hangout with friends

  • Went here only once and it was very busy which I thought was a good thing because more people = amazing food

  • Unfortunately the food wasn't amazing and the pricing for it was ridiculously expensive

  • Naan and parathas are from the frozen foods section

  • The service and the menu is short and sufficient

  • The Malabar parathas are nice and soft

  • The kalamari fish was loved by my mates

  • The cocktails and the mocktails are just about average

  • The cold chai tea is worth a try here

  • Good food overall I had the prawn dish and it was just right delicately flavoured

  • Malabar paratha was not great and I regretted not going for the naan

  • Went on a Thursday evening with many colleagues

  • Our manager took us at Chai Ki and I was surprised of the food taste

  • We ordered konkan curry and the taste was nice tangy and spicy

  • The ambiance is different from regular Indian restaurants especially the bar area

  • Chicken Tikka Naan are really good

  • The size of the portions is very very small

  • The dishes are extremely well presented but they won't fill your tummy

  • Tried their Galouti Kebab and Subz kofta with plain naan

  • A 12.5% service charge is added to your bill so enter if you're eating on an expense account

  • The wait staff were very pleasant

  • The seekh kebab was technically cooked absolutely perfectly

  • While they were quite tasty and definitely had a kick I felt something was missing from these in the spice department

  • The butter chicken was simply amazing

  • The smokiness of the dish was the best I've had in recent memory

  • The creaminess was there too but not to the point it felt like your eating sludge

  • The chicken in the dish was extremely tender and broke apart when the fork came anywhere near them

  • This combined with the ginger rice made for a fantastic meal that was only made better by the naan

  • It appears from the dishes I had their execution of it is almost perfect

  • Visited Chai Ki (Canary Wharf) with a group of office colleagues after a session of ice skating

  • Probably one of the best kind of Indian food in London

  • We were around 15 people so the only place available to accomodate us was a high table (for which Chai Ki (Canary Wharf) loses 1 point)

  • I went there last Saturday with a bunch of friends

  • In main course it was mutton Rogan

  • The quantity of main course is good enough

  • Nice place for couples although there is a section in the restaurant where it is super light

  • Good modern Indian fusion with a focus on street food and bar snacks

  • Service is friendly but they messed up big time with the drinks orders

  • Some drink orders which hadn't arrived after 15 minutes were ordered again

  • The bar plates and nibbles were the best section of the menu

  • Bhel Puri Chaat was the highlight of our starters

  • Shakarkandi Chaat was okay but not as good as the Bhel Puri

  • Burnt chilli chicken must have been fantastic because the plate was empty by the time it got to my end of the table

  • I'm told it is one of the best dishes they do

  • This was a bit of a disappointment as they were all mild and quite similar

  • The vegetarian curry containing roast vegetables was a standout

  • I normally love dahl but this version was soupy and bland

  • Food arrives in a haphazard fashion with curries arriving before starters

  • Definitely NOT FINE dining either with small meat portions in a large place carrying a sea of sludgy pre made sauces

  • Food is loaded with double cream base and sugar

  • A curious attempt to fuse foods but the spices are NOT fresh or genuine

  • The environment was not particularly special

  • Comments refer to restaurant food only which is described as `serving more refined foods

  • I had gone with two of my colleagues to this restaurant and we all loved it

  • This restaurant is a short walk from bank street in canary wharf

  • You must try their signature cocktails and they are very interesting

  • The portions are small and the price is on the expensive side

  • The dinner highlight was the malabar paratha soft

  • Flaky and went very well with Malai paneer

  • The ambience is very good as well

  • Definitely a recommend if you are in canary wharf

  • Well thought out menu with flavorsome dishes from starters to mains to the drinks

  • I was impressed with the concept and decor

  • Great loved the sour singer flavor which went well with the main dishes

  • The only thing that we weren't happy about was that they didn't have high chairs for a baby

  • Having said that the staff were happy to meet our random request of getting some chopped fruit for the baby and were very friendly and courteous

  • Chai Ki (Canary Wharf) is a must try

  • Food is really tasty but the quantity is replay very les and the the presentation is very nice

  • Beware the portions are really small but comes with lot of sauté

  • Ed veggies almost everything is cooked with veggies so portions will be filling

  • Order wisely and the cocktails are must try too

  • The chicken tikka toppings could have done with some more spice but then I guess it's my Indian palate talking

  • The dahi puri tastes good and the chilli paneer is the star dish

  • Ambience is nice with some good Indian music playing in the background

  • Even though they were a little naive on some of the dishes lol had some nice cocktails

  • Standard menu with decent selection

  • The service was really quick and didn&rsquo

  • Beware of there portions as they are small but delicious

  • Chicken tikka naan was super soft and full of flavour

  • Everyone loved the Koliwada Calamari as it was fried with a sweet and tangy after taste

  • + both sections of the place (bar and restaurant) are good with decent options for each place

  • + Brunch is ideal for those seeking British breakfast with indian touch

  • Manager including server were not apologetic about the mixup and bad service
