Cafe Mama Pho (Surrey Quays)

• Where dishes are chosen from a remarkably (and reassuringly) small menu
• I can't say the Pho here is miles better than most of the Kingsland Road offerings
• One of the better Vietnamese restaurants I've been to and certainly one of the best restaurants in the Surrey Quays area
• As there aren't many seats and it is very popular at times
• The hot conversation topic from adjacent tables is about these Vietnamese restaurants
• I would hope that these constant comparisons will mean that both Cafe Mama Pho and Cafe East are kept on their toes as to the quality of the pho
• The variety of dishes are only a conjugation of the basic pho stock served with different types of meat
• Rice dishes are also available with pork belly
• Salads and dry noodles are also available
• Everything from side dishes to the main courses were served together
• Service was friendly but with a long queue outside
• Cafe Mama Pho is a great place to have a quick and tasty meal at reasonable prices in a fairly comfortable atmosphere within a local neighbourhood
• Prawns and beansprouts served with fish sauce and salad) &ndash
• The feel good factor about this dish is the oilyness which is probably not best if you are watching your cholestorol level
• The crepe is bland with a minute filling of pork and prawns
• Because there is certainly a wow factor as the dish is presented
• Fried and steamed pork belly with herbs served with boiled rice and cucumber) &ndash
• More fragrant with herbs and is less beefy
• My favourite dish is the rice and pork dish which has Vietnamese meatloaf
• The rice with grilled pork and of course the rice wrapped with pork mince and mushroom
• It's a pancake with pork and shrimps ( that's how we had it in Vietnam
• Don't have it with chicken Please
• The environment is more comfortable and cosy
• The rice pastry with pork is as good as I have tried in Montreal China Town
• Delicious pho place if you are looking for something cheap and quick
• The noodles were very fresh and 'bouncy' welcoming staff and very clean and hygiene kitchen by the looks of it
