Burnt Toast Cafe (Brixton)

• Been there during the weekend and there was a small queue
• I had a toast with mushroom and cheese and my girlfriend ordered a pancake with berries
• Hefty portions and well prepared cooked breakfasts with all the standard options went down a treat
• I took my family who were visiting overnight to Burnt Toast for breakfast the next day and our experience was nothing short of horrendous
• All four of the eggs in the florentine order were poached to such an extent that they could easily have been deployed as WMD
• My mother took a bite of one of the sausages on her plate (disguised with baked beans and other breakfast ingredients) only to realise after swallowing it that the sausage was COMPLETELY raw inside
• Doing his very best 'I am the mute Gordon Ramsay of the fry ups' impression
• Te which the moody chef was clearly incapable of preparing to even the most basic safety standards
• We left having partially consumed our breakfasts with a late apology from the waitress and £
• To add insult to injury (or in this case perhaps it should be the other way around) my mother and sister spent the rest of their day projectile vomiting and with severe headaches
• They were unable to continue with their plans for the rest of the day
• Tucked in a corner of Brixton market is this gem of a shop Burnt Toast Cafe
• We were two hungry girls and decided to treat ourselves with a little dessert in form of a perfect French toast with berries and maple syrup (which was recommended by our lovely waitress)
• Though I agree with others that the service can be a bit patchy (picture two bored
• Openly yawning at 11am and exasperated when the place got absolutely full with a line outside waiting to be seated)
• Was english muffin with perfectly poached eggs on top of the best guacamole
• Excellent hollandaise with smoked papprika on top
• The All English was probably too pricey for what it was and you toast your own bread when you ready
• Brixton market is always a somewhat surreal experience
