Brooklyn Bowl (North Greenwich)

• Matt black paint and the muted sounds of a bowling alley are dish of the day at Brooklyn Bowl
• Brooklyn Bowl is the well kept secret tucked away at the back
• The cavernous space within is separated into three areas
• Brooklyn Bowl is near perfect
• As likely to host Dixieland jazz as it is The Dandy Warhols
• At the side are two dips the blue cheese one capable of bringing faith to the atheists and apostasy to the religious
• To look at them is to taste them
• I love a pre Christmas double date and when the lovely Ayla Warner and I were wondering where to drag our husbands for ours
• The first thing to say about this space is that it is a restaurant/bar/bowling alley all in one
• Unless you have come prepared with a group booking for bowling alley
• I went for the pulled pork which was served on bread with a side of coleslaw and mash
• Spicy and sweet pulled pork was so tender and hit the spot perfectly on a cold winter day
• I think my hubby chose slihtly better (though definitely not any more healthy) with his fried catfish burger whilst the rest of our group munched on delicious chicken burgers
• We couldn't see past the peanut butter milkshake and that was every bit as naughty but delicious as it sounded
• The restaurant area is quite spacious and airy with a huge flat screen TV showing live football (much to our annoyance as it did mean the boys were far less sociable than on a non football day
• ) We did find the service was a little slow on arrival and on keeping us updated on waiting times for lanes but other than that
• I ordered a little chocolate cupcake but this wasn't great as far as cupcakes go the sauce was a little too runny and the sponge ttasted almost a little synthetic
• ) This is a great place to come with friends or family for food and some healthy competition
• Did you know there is currently an exhibit at The O2 of Elvis memorabilia that they&rsquo
• Brooklyn Bowl is located located literally all the way around the arena where we were finally greeted by a bright vintage style lit sign
• As we entered we were met with a Check In Desk with lots of bowling shoes and quite the classic bowling alley feel
• We were led us to a separate bar area where our Elvis themed event was taking place
• Although the space was separate and even had two bowling lanes off to the side with it
• We started with the King Sandwich (£
• T particularly impressed with this sandwich
• Peanut butter and banana on toast is a breakfast go to for me so it&rsquo
• The next dish we tasted was the Chilli with Buttermilk Cornbread (£
• The cornbread was a bit sweet (which is one of the two ways I like my cornbread) and the chilli was meaty and delicious
• We only tried samples of these dishes I think some of the quality slipped a bit with the mini biscuits as they were drier than I expected
• 8.50) which was moist and dense
• It reminded me a lot of the All Shook Up concrete from Ted Drewes (which is also a nod to Elvis) but a lot more smooth and drinkable
• The pork was tender and juicy with just the right amount of sauce
• T too much of it so it worked well with the sandwich
• It was hard to tell what was bone and there was quite a bit of gristle
• Finally we moved on to the desserts were we tried the Southern Pecan Pie (£
• All I have to say about these is to save room for dessert

• The food pricing is a bit of a mixed bag
• Some of the dishes seem like good value such as the Fried Catfish Sandwich was a ton of food and only £
• There are however some dishes which are a bit steeper like the Sliders (£
• Rewind to 2011 and I was at Tinie Tempah after party at North Greenwich O2 Proud2 club since its closure there&rsquo
• Brooklyn Bowl is all rock and roll themed
• I started off with the Cuban Mistress
• A gigantic glass filled with exotic fruits Havana Club shaken hard
• The Elvis Menu was filled with old school American fast food classics
• King Sandwich was filled with peanut butter and banana grilled in sweet butter
• T think there is anywhere as corporate or as soulless as the O2 in Greenwich
• To coincide with the new Elvis exhibition at the O2
• A little group of foodie bloggers were treated to a selection of tasters from the new menu
• Me the highlights were most definitely the fried chicken
• The chicken was so crunchy on the outside
• It was probably one of the best versions we&rsquo
• Gravy chips were also great (as were the non covered version we snacked on later)
• Sweet and syrupy with doughy pastry
• I reckon this was a good one &ndash
• I decided not to try the chilli with cornbread though and Stephen admitted this was not the best dish of the night
• Ll get a whole one with chicken gravy
• American biscuits are the starchy
• Though I thought it was overstuffed with banana and took some of mine out to even up the ratios
• The milkshake was a bit odd &ndash
• The food here is by the Blue Ribbon
• Though places like Bloomsbury Bowl and All Star Lanes are probably equalling it in the food stakes
• Overall it was good but I don&rsquo

• Even on a Wednesday they had a rock n roll band to bop to while you were bowling and they were really good
• S and TGI Fridays) Brooklyn Bowl is all corrugated iron
• Distressed wooden floors and is lit to feel like 1am at all times
• Live bands play most nights and the music is complimented by the roar of an energetic audience
• The girl on the next lane is using my ball
• Keep an eye out for their gigs listings as the sound system is top quality and the view of the stage from the bowling lanes is much preferable to the mosh pit in front of the stage

• The chicken was perfectly tender
• The coating was a little too salty and needed generous amounts of honey
• Each piece of chicken was huge and had lots of white meat
• We still enjoyed the fries with our cocktails
• We went on a Thursday evening when there was no event on at the o2 so it was relatively quiet
• I have been here and was great although sadly it has closed down so if you censor check this as a post you way want to remove it
