  • He moved to become head chef of Tangawizi and I lost touch with where he had moved to after that

  • Certainly we were made welcome by the staff on this quiet Sunday evening

  • The high street premises are quite smartly decorated

  • There was a short wine list with no vintages displayed

  • Aloo tikki chat was prettily presented

  • The central spiced potato cake on a bed of tender chickpeas with tamarind chutney

  • The texture was fine and the chickpeas tender but for me the tamarind chutney needed to be a lot more prevalent

  • Amritsar fish was less attractively laid out

  • Prawn naryali had large prawns that had been marinated with coconut and spices before being cooked in the oven

  • As so often happens with this dish (13/20)

  • Dhal makhani was particularly good

  • Naan bread was pleasant (13/20) but I particularly enjoyed kulcha

  • Gulab jaman was made from scratch and was enjoyable rich

  • As ever in such circumstances was decent but did not compare well to a high quality kulfi that is made from scratch

  • There is a level of sophistication in the food that makes Atithi Restaurant one of the best dining restaurants for a popular cuisine this side of London

  • When the food is this good you are going to have to just darn well put up with it

  • The Paneer is also a favourite of mine

  • There's a particularly interesting mains dish Goan Prawn curry with coconut and poppy seeds that is very tasty indeed

  • They are more flashy (which I like) and the food is also good there

  • I got fed up with being rushed through service

  • Having staff hovering around your table waiting for you to finish is pushing the envelope to far and this is what Tangiwizi do

  • The restaurant is very welcoming

  • Truly one of the best Indian food we've tasted in London

  • Ergo all dishes are excellent quality

  • If you're around Twickenham and are looking for a good curry house

  • First time food was great tasty and spicy recommend the lamb chops served fresh staff very helpful was busy and still git served drinks fast
