The Turquoise Thistle - Hotel Indigo (New Town)

• The dining room with large windows on to York Place offer plenty of natural light even though it was slightly dreich the day we were there
• The scones were great but the sweets could have been better
• I didn't even know The Turquoise Thistle - Hotel Indigo (New Town) existed until I was invited here for Afternoon Tea 'with a twist' one rainy
• Turquoise Thistle is a lovely lovely place
• The room we were shown to was lovely and spacious and we had the room to ourselves
• The afternoon tea 'with a twist' was basically to do something different and offer a selection other than sandwiches
• The savoury selection was brilliant my favourite was the salmon on the potato scone
• After speaking with a lot of the other attendees we all thought that there should have been more savory and less sweets on offer
• I enjoyed the sweet selection and to be honest the scone with cream and jam was actually my favourite
• They were all lovely but I prefer savoury items but that is my personal choice
• The atmospehere was very welcoming and staff very friendly
• We started our afternoon tea with a glass of prosecco
• Overall the afternoon tea at The Turquoise Thistle was a great change from a traditional afternoon tea menu
