Treacle (New Town)

• It's a nice chill out zone with areas of sofa and lush cushions
• Then I would of course answer with The Sherbet Martini in treacle
• Plus who doesn't like a lolly pop with their cocktail
• We visited for valentines with our friends (not a double date though
• When I booked it the guys were really friendly and accommodating
• My only comment would be that it was very loud for dining in the restaurant / bar
• This stylish and vibrant place got me a really nice meal when I was at Edinbra
• The burger with Jack Daniel's BBQ sauce was really tasteful and its was enormous
• I went for the vegetarian noodles with cauliflower tempura with a pok choi side
• The pok choi is a little but salty
• You are bound to be in safe hands with their expert concoctions
• The spicy bean burger deserves a special mention along with their innovative sauces
• Fresh and flavourful food with a good vibe
• The burger was unevenly cooked and although pink in some areas was not juicy at all
• The wedges also disappointed these were served soggy in a little cup
• Perhaps it was a bad day for Treacle
• Visited for dinner and cocktails and had the prawn banh mi (which was average) and the veggie burger which was delicious
• There's an impressive cocktail menu with unique and inventive drinks
• I had a strawberry and balsamic concoction which was really tasty and unlike any other cocktail I've had before
• The service was also great bar and wait staff were very friendly and helpful
• The interior is very different with a cartoony feel but I liked how unique it is and was probably one of the yummiest salads I've had
• We had been here before and thought the breakfasts were decent and have also had some good cocktails here (not at the same time as the breakfasts though
• Cor means that Treacle (New Town) is often popular with the trendy set of an evening
• No toast or drink came with this though
• I was not offered a tea or coffee with my full Scottish breakfast
• The coke price was added into the bill and the coffee my friend had ordered wasn&rsquo
• We thought this was a bit cheeky but not enough for us to complain
• It's a good place to catch up with friends whilst sharing a platter and downing a few cocktails and Aperol spritz
• Fun is not a word that is often associated with restaurants
• Informal occasionally and quirky is usually as close as you will get
• In the case of Treacle I think fun is a perfectly acceptable term
• The coffee machine was out of commission so we had suki tea
• I had the apple loves mint which was lovely and Ann had the Mango Tango which again hit the spot
• Belgium waffle with nutella and ice cream
• The nutella was plentiful which meant we had enough for every bite
• Treacle means sweetheart and Alroit is Alright or Okay
• Their French Toast is definitely up there with the best in Edinburgh
• Came here for a week late birthday meal with an old friend
• We had a chicken burger and a normal one can never go wrong along with the platter for two and lot of food for two people but we managed
• Chips were not frozen and real potatoes and so very thick which were amazing top job
• Chicken strips nice made with real chicken
• Corn on cob grilled with a sweet sauce just perfect
• Service was great too the waitresses happy and happy to recommend things from the menu and up for a bit of banter with the customers
• Always innovative with their cocktail menu and table service is a bonus
• Decent place to eat and drink food is quick and really tasty for what you get
• Treacle (New Town) is very nice staff are super friendly
