Maxies Bistro (Old Town)

• I thought the menu was a bit higgledy piggledy trying to be fusion
• The cheesecake we had for pudding was also not amazing
• The cavernous premises are full of nooks and crannies
• The location and interior of Maxie's are strong selling points
• It is otherwise a prime tourist trap with little to recommend it
• The food on offer is way below restaurant standard
• The staff we very accommodating and the view over Victoria st was impressive
• Would like to see a few more options on the menu and inside is in need of a spruce
• The fish and chips is quite famous
• The food and drinks were good and filling
• Shame the service was so uninspired
