The Blue Bear (Canonmills)

• The Blue Bear is one of my favourite breakfast and brunch place in Edinburgh
• Coming to the Blue Bear is an all around fantastic experience
• The full breakfast was absolutely huge
• It was perfectly done with delicious black pudding and sausage but also succulent
• The eggs benedict looked great but was a bit overshadowed by the full breakfast calling my attention on the other side of me
• ' The waffles were gorgeous and I could go on and on about the berry compote
• The couple who owns the place are really sweet and extremely dedicated to the Blue Bear
• I also loved how they work with local artists to display beautiful artwork that is for sale
• It represents not only a fantastic local business with great food but it is also a locals' place that is community oriented
• The rest of my party were all delighted but I was not
• After checking with the kitchen
• That the sausages were indeed unsafe and that they had run out of gluten free bread so there was no toast
• My double macchiato was delivered more like a very small latte
• I queried this and it was taken away
• The service was friendly and the food is tasty
• When I googled for best Scottish breakfast
• The name appeared on almost every link and there was clear instruction as to where it was for even tourists to find
• The quantity was quiet a lot
• The scones were amazing too
• Service was good and the waiters were very friendly
• 'helped' my boyfriend with his big bear breakfast too
• Loved the huge pot of tea generosity is key for me
• The staff were friendly and it was a nice warm environment
• Possibly one of the best places for breakfast/brunch in Edinburgh
• I had the veggie breakfast and it was a good sized portion
• Great menu with extensive selection of sweet and savoury options
• Must try their French Toast and their wide selection of pastries and other goodies are well worth it
• I had a pot of earl grey tea with the most delicious almond milk I have ever tasted
• This wee place is in Canonmills and what an absolute gem of a cafe
• Had brunch here with a friend on a Saturday morning
• The black pudding was thickly sliced and tasty
• Not sure I was a fan of the sausages
• More down to their look than their taste (I know that sounds a bit daft) they were a bit anaemic inside with large pieces of a green herb through them
• Cakes looked amazing but we were too full to try them
