  • A really unusual design that tied in nicely with the cafe&rsquo

  • After what seemed like a lifetime to get home and tuck in we found that there was a slight mix up with our order

  • Whilst the cheesecake was present we&rsquo

  • D been given the wrong chocolate cake (no red velvet with white chocolate frosting

  • Whilst the chocolate cake was tasty and incredibly moist it just couldn&rsquo

  • The portions were very generously sized

  • The place is really cosy and it's a place where you want to go with your friends and family

  • The design of the place is really original with sugary colours

  • The cakes I have tried so far were all delicious and I have to say that my favourite is the Oreo cake

  • The good thing is that you don't have to prepare diner afterward and if you have to much cakes and sandwiches

  • The regular teatime is always great but I was a little disappointed by the Christmas Tea Time which was more expensive (£

  • 5 for the Classic) and some of the items were not up to what they usually do

  • The red velvet cake was moist and the frosting plentiful while the hot chocolate came was the closest a hot chocolate has ever been to luxurious

  • I recommend their pancakes with bacon and maple syrup

  • Or just a yummy scone with all the cream and jam you can eat

  • The staff are great and are very used to adding extra chairs

  • French toast with bacon and far too many of their cakes

  • The decor inside is really fun and quirky

  • The cakes are just do die for and the food is really tasty

  • Three main reasons 1 best cakes in Edinburgh 2 the chic vintage decor 3 Mimi's bakehouse inspired my first ever blog post

  • Perfect place to go for a catchup with my wee blogging buddy Shakira Rahman before heading to a beauty event

  • S Bakehouse is a fantastic place for brunch

  • Their afternoon tea is splendid and very affordable at about £

  • It also comes with a selection of cakes and fresh scones

  • You can also choose which kind of tea you would like to have with you delicious treats

  • Brunch my favourite brunch is French toast with banana and salted caramel &ndash

  • I love Mimi's Bakehouse (Leith) and with great prices and friendly staff I&rsquo

  • As it seems there are no more waiting staff meaning you get served a lot quicker than I have experienced in the past

  • Perfect Sunday afternoon with my best friend here at Mimi's

  • We ordered afternoon tea between the 2 of us and so glad we did because it was plenty for us both

  • In fact it was more of a surprise

  • I do have a soft spot for scone with jam and cream but was taken by a sweet surprise when I tasted the coconut mixed with the jam

  • Overall a cute lovely cafe with a great view

  • Ocean Terminal shopping centre also is not that far away( we both walked there) so shopping there would round of a great day

  • My destination was Mimi&rsquo

  • S Bakehouse where I was to try Beforenoon Tea

  • Afternoon tea is a pleasant indulgence

  • The concept is both simple and luxurious

  • The afternoon is not the only time of day you might be hungry or in need of tea

  • S Bakehouse in Leith is already an institution for lovers of good baking

  • Or chopped and fried with potatoes and onions

  • Want something with a little body to it

  • Compote and granola was my first step into the dainty side of Beforenoon Tea

  • Coconut y granola over tangy yogurt with a lovely fresh blueberry compote

  • It also felt virtuous and was a superior version of the breakfast I have every morning

  • Sandwiched together with dulce de leche

  • The two met happily in a moist muffin that was topped with a glistening smear of hazelnut spread

  • An extremely well glazed cinnamon swirl disappeared down my gullet with the last of my tea

  • S a few times but this was a purposeful visit to try the before noon tea (like afternoon tea but with more breakfast items)

  • I was really looking forward to this as I already know they do a mean French toast for breakfast and their cakes are out of this world

  • The food comes on a cake stand and diners are offered a selection of teas

  • The bacon has great flavour and it was an excellent start

  • We then moved onto their award winning cheese scones with a cream cheese and chive spread

  • The scones were of the mini variety and again we had two each

  • The cheese flavour was delicious and moreish

  • The spread was nice and light

  • There was a nice mix of seeds within the granola and the fruit was sweet without being sickly

  • Our penultimate item was a mini pancake stack dusted generously with icing sugar

  • This seemed a little dry and might have worked better with a compote type filling to moisten the stack rather than the sticky dulce de leche filling

  • The mini toffee muffin was a good bite sized treat to finish off with and disappeared in a couple of mouthfuls

  • It had a lovely depth of toffee flavour with a surprising toffee crunch on top

  • Surprisingly I enjoyed the savoury items more than the sweet but this is certainly this is an experience everyone should spoil themselves with

  • The cheesecake looks great with a 4.70 pound price tag

  • I've also had cupcake's from here to take away and they were really good

  • My favourite was a mini carrot cupcake and a mini pavlova

  • A beautiful cafe with wonderful decor and very high quality food

  • The service was a bit slow but this was due to the fact that the cafe was completely full so I can understand that

  • It wasn't a problem as they were super busy and it sunny outside but I do suggest booking even if it is just cake and Tea

  • Not too chocolatey and with just the right amount of Peanut Butter flavour 10/10

  • A little bit too sweet though but the idea was good 4/10

  • The classic really was the best with a lovely

  • Crumbly soft sponge with melting in your mouth buttercream and a tasty berry curd layer through the centre

  • *The service was a little slow to begin with as you have to order the cakes from the counter by yourself but I suppose it does work

  • *our only criticism was once we had finished our cakes

  • Their belly busting cakes and traybakes are absolutely legendary

  • My favourite is the red velvet cupcakes they are amazing

  • You'd probably be better off with some tea instead

  • Always been a fan of their afternoon tea offering but this is in a league of it's own

  • Can't decide what my fav was but I was left unable to speak

  • My boyfriend and I went in for tea and a cake in the afternoon and I was surprised at how big the cafe is inside

  • The banana and Nutella is a fantastic combination and the Mars bar crispy was a huge square with bits of Mars bar on top

  • Along with the cakes the service was a highlight of our time at Mimi's

  • Our server was cheerful and bright and very engaging with us

  • The veggie gourmet breakfast is also quite nice

  • We went for the beforenoon tea which is only available Saturday's and Sunday's 9am until 12pm

  • The bake house was extremely busy so I was ever so glad we booked and it was the last Sunday of the Edinburgh festival

  • We had never experienced the sweet with the savoury before but very tantalising on the tastebuds

  • We all enjoyed the tea and the service was excellent the staff even put a candle on a scone for my daughter

  • A small yet cosy bakery where the staff are always smiling and friendly

  • S since they opened in Leith and my love affair with their French Toast began and I doubt it will ever wane

  • Had been to Mimi's bakehouse and its was and fantastic place to hangout ooh soo sweet Mimi's french toast stack ek dum swadisht ek delicious
