  • Getting back to well executed simple classics is something that you just can't beat

  • We only went to the bar and I was utterly charmed by the decor and general vibe

  • Somewhat industrial space with a cool soundtrack and comfy chairs

  • I loved that there was reading material as well as board games available

  • Big heated outdoor space with comfy sofas

  • When we stepped in there was a DJ playing jazz and I worried the music might be too loud

  • My companion's starter of taramasalata and crudites was a very successful dish

  • Being spiked with smoked fish

  • Combined beautifully with halved radishes

  • Under ripe Conference is not my favorite pear variety

  • Also walnuts were not toasted

  • Bearnaise and greens ordered with a side of chips was very good

  • Bearnaise was tasty with a nice balance of butter

  • Hand cut chips were very well executed

  • My companion had very tender braised pigs cheek which was flavorful and not fatty

  • I often find restaurant mash too rich with butter and cream

  • Sauteed cabbage was a nice accompaniment

  • Subtly sweet peas with the slight aniseed flavour from the tarragon

  • The ham hock was generous as well

  • The artichokes and fennel were raw and shaved thinly

  • Pan fried cod with courgettes and tomatoes &ndash

  • It was very well cooked with the very much expected crispy skin and flaky fish meat balanced perfectly with its seasoning

  • The vegetables around it were accommodated well with the fish

  • The restaurant is suitable for both large groups or romantic dining for two

  • The middle section with a view to the kitchen is more casual with high dining table and chairs

  • The front is very relaxing furnished with large sofas perfect for cocktails

  • I say that it is worth looking out

  • Wringer and Mangler dishes are the restaurant kinda food that inspires my home cooking

  • Spent over 10 years travelling in Turkey and getting to grips with everything the cuisine has to offer

  • One of the waiters greeted me with an orange short welcome drink &lsquo

  • Segura Viudas Brut Reserva was used poured over some ice

  • The month of September was relatively still warm

  • I have to say that this is probably one of the yummiest bread I have ever eaten

  • The top layer is crusty and hard on the outside with the centre being very dewy

  • Mixed with olive oil and sun dried tomatoes this was the business

  • My main starter was the crispy pigs head croquette in tartar sauce with apples and radishes

  • I regrettably did not choose the 50 degree cooked salmon but was able to sneak a bite from my friend

  • This is a must try and is the highlight of the menu

  • I decided to take the Merlot braised beef cheeks with red cabbage and celeriac

  • I just wish there was some mash or potatoes that would have accompanied the beef as it was not too filling

  • The main was paired with house red wine

  • So I opted for Pinot Grigio house white wine which was on the sweeter side but was paired well with the dinner options

  • T end up finishing the dessert but it was refreshing and had a sweet infused taste of fruit followed by a sour taste of the curd and crunchy texture of the granola

  • They achieved the laid back and home style cooking feel which they were trying to convey

  • Home style cooking with a laid back style
