Lonzo (Hackney)

• This was my best meal in recent memory
• We attended the very crowded half price soft launch where they were still ironing out some issues around getting the tabs right
• The atmosphere is extremely casual
• In that you squeeze around a large communal table in what is essentially a retail space for selling their wines and deli wares
• They dealt with the chaos very well
• The show stopping starter was deep fried artichoke on a parmesan cream priced at £
• The tortellini in broth was really divine
• Meaty tortellini floating in chicken broth with a scattering of crumbled parmesan
• The other main was chicken thighs cooked with fennel
• Full price for mains was a very reasonable £
• I've never even been to this part of London but Lonzo (Hackney) is a true hidden gem
