When we arrived we were warmly welcomed by a waiter and taken to our seats
-
Wooden tables with white table clothes and some small flowers on each table
-
It was bright and there was a buzz of people ordering dinner before the Theatre
-
Dan opted for this because he loves Chorizo and he was pleasantly surprised as he wouldn't normally go for a salad
-
I had a bite and it was bloody yummy
-
The Calamari was perfectly cooked and coated in that yummy smokey oil that seeps from cooking Chorizo nice mix of salad and dressed perfectly
-
Chicken Liver Pate with Toasted Onion Brioche and Cranberry Port Sauce
-
The bread itself was lovely but the Nigella seeds on the crust of the bread I personally didn't enjoy
-
Let me first say that this could quite possibly be one of the best steaks I have ever eaten
-
Talking of butter the garlic butter really was divine when left to melt on top
-
I am not normally a fan of chunky chips but these were out of this world
-
These wonderful little bad boys were literally bursting with flavour
-
Their juice was so sweet it was almost like having ketchup
-
Warm Double Choc Chip Brownie with Ice Cream &
-
I can't give it an award as high as the steak but this definitely was a good brownie
-
More on the cakey side I would say but the chocolate taste was perfectly balanced by the creamy vanilla ice cream
-
Over all I was very impressed with this restaurant
-
I started with the soup which was beautiful and flavoursome (vegetable)
-
I then moved onto the delicious halibut and rounded the meal off with a tiramisu
-
Our drink order was taken in minutes and the food not long after
-
We soon learnt that the business was due to the Old Vic theatre being next door
-
The main meals of the lemon sole and lamb (both from the specials board) were also perfect my sole was cooked to perfection
-
We had no option but to share one with some double espressos heaven
-
We washed the food down with a rather lovely Chablis and thoroughly enjoyed our evening
-
The place was heaving and we were glad we booked
-
The service was friendly and as it was a Friday night
-
Followed by a spicy Thai style sea bass with prawn and spicy coconut rice this was absolutely delicious
-
This was a little disappointing the fruit itself was great but I found the crumble topping a little bit hard and clumpy
-
I suspect because it was quite busy in there but we had to chase up a few times for orders of drinks and dessert etc
-
I remember I ordered a grilled spicy sea bass with prawn rice
-
It was quite delicious and it was stylishly decorated which was quite impressive for a normal restaurant
-
The service was excellent and I believe me and my partner spent about £
-
The visiting is worth the price
-
Spice' a winter cocktail made with cinnamon syrup
-
I decided on the Pan Cooked Smoked Finnan Haddock with Bubble &
-
The Haddock was cooked perfectly and sat nicely under the poached egg
-
Yolk slithered all the way down to mix with the hollandaise and bubble &
-
I tried a little bit of my friends main of Slow Roasted Confit of Duck Leg with Colcannon and Port Jus
-
It looked amazing and certainly tasted as good as it looked with the duck so tender and fallen of the leg bone
-
Blackcurrant Crumble with Custard and the Creme Brû
-
I was impressed with the food and the service and would happily return for that Duck main
-
The restaurant was very quiet and the toilet facilities were not entirely great
-
While the upstairs looks like a lovely restaurant we were all pleasantly surprised to find out about the second room
-
Wine and cocktails and there is even an option to put on your own music through an iPod or iPhone
-
The ceiling is a bit low though so I am not sure whether quite tall people would feel comfortable down there and it's probably not suitable for dancing
