• Vivat Bacchus (City of London) actually is quite perfect for a business meeting over lunch or dinner
• The prices are very reasonable so won&rsquo
• The atmosphere was much buzzier with a collection of suited people
• I had the 200g Argentinian sirloin strip which came with triple cooked chips
• Dessert I had the stickey toffee pudding with salted butterscotch sauce
• A perfect place if you want to get acquainted with wine and cheese and later impress your friends
• Vivat Bacchus is a bit of a city institution
• It takes its inspiration from the Old World with a rustic feel with stripped wooden floors
• The old 'serve it on a board' concept is still alive and well
• What I do have an issue with is the buffet style offering
• At its core is a very simple burger
• The toppings are a bit of a cop out
• Luckily this was a good choice
• The pungent garlic aoili is liberally applied to the bottom bun
• Means you're radioactive for anyone you're catching up with later in the afternoon
• What I get is cooked pink in the middle but the dense grey sides show inconsistency
• Means this is far from a meat win and has destroyed any complementary flavours the beef might bring
• The Viennese bun used for this burger is pretty darn good
• These milk based buns are light and buttery and beautifully toasted
• Your efforts with the burger are not from the DIY approach to building the burger
• I have been to the London Bridge branch several more times for catch up with friends over cheese and wine
• This week we were invited by the lovely people at Vivat Bacchus to their Farringdon location for dinner
• Ve always associated Vivat Bacchus with client entertainment
• Vivat Bacchus is known for their grilled meats
