• Playing its part in this grand show is the culinary community which dates back to day one
• It constantly evolves and openings and closing are a daily occurrence
• River Cafe has carved a reputation for itself since 1987 based on inventive seasonal Italian cuisine served with a selection of fine wines
• The same can be said of the artichoke risotto with vermouth and thyme which again for £
• Mains followed the same theme when presented with a beautiful plate of chargrilled Scottish scallops with anchovies and polenta and
• The wood roasted turbot tranche which were both exquisite but not £
• I couldn't help but feel that River Cafe has started to lose touch with the new London not in the culinary sense where it can still rub shoulders with the best
• When places like Restaurant Story and Lyle's are now doing amazing tasting menus consisting of 10+ dishes for prices similar to a main at River Cafe
• It sits very modestly on the riverfront just along from Hammersmith bridge with a beautiful terrace and garden
• We went on the hottest day of he year on a Monday evening and it was jam packed
• I went for a starter of ravioli and main course of seabass with beans and tomato
• Finishing off with that gorgeous almond tart and strawberries
• The service was very attentive
• My only gripe is the prices starters are £
• However it was an all round wonderful experience
• I think both previous reviews are meant for THE River Cafe in Hammersmith
• THIS River Cafe is right outside Putney Bridge Station and not actually on the river or with any hint of river views
