Red Dog Saloon (Hoxton)

• My restaurant list is long and distinguished
• Getting more so with every additional week I spend in this fantastic city
• So in one sentence Red Dog was on the list
• Love a menu where there is not a thing on there I wouldn&rsquo
• This kind of thing is exactly what Google was invented
• The second approach was simply put forward as &ldquo
• I had ordered the Devastator to come with fries and slaw anyway so had a plan to &lsquo
• Turns out they are basted and marinated in a searing hot chilli paste which &ndash
• Naga Vipers are one of the hottest chilli peppers in the world
• Turns out chilli cultivation is pretty serious business in England&rsquo
• Just swallowing and gulping with my mouth wide open
• My fingers were more covered with this devil paste than the wings themselves
• The regular chicken wings came with a ramekin of blue cheese dressing
• We were spooning this stuff into our mouths like it was chocolate mousse
• One of my mates had his head in his hands and the other was banging the table with his fist
• The heat stuck with me again for ten to fifteen
• My mate had eaten his second with a knife and fork
• This was officially the poshest way anyone has eaten a chicken wing but my god he was onto something
• A quick wipe down with a tauntingly small
• Whether this was from pain or the colouring from the sauce is still up for deliberation
• S funny but with all the japery surrounding the starters I had completely forget that there was still rather substantial burger to come
• The chefs must have been banging these out all night but whenever one was shifted through the restaurant by the (sometimes overly) efficient waiting staff
• It was like everyone in the room was looking at it
• A mini photoshoot with the iPhones signalled that a) the burger looked like the Red mutt&rsquo
• Now if this was simply off the back of Satan&rsquo
• S hot wings or if the burger was good in its own right will always be a massive grey area but all I will say is that the Devastator ticked all the right boxes
• The burgers themselves were well cooked (though medium rare which is fine for me
• S taste) and the pulled pork was proper melt in the mouth stuff
• Even the garnishes of bacon and cheese were of a superior quality to comparable burger joints like TGIs or GBK
• Bound together with BBQ sauce and a variation of Thousand Island
• T help but notice that we were each checking our watches
• As within five minutes of devouring the mighty Devastator it felt like the remnants of the burger was using the walls of my stomach as a bongo drum
• Still searing with Viper heat
• We settled up soon after that and decided that the best course of action was to attempt a cool
• What transpired was less of a walk and more of a waddle
• Resembling three embattled war veterans with a mixture of thousand yard stares and labour pains
• The Devastator was conquered &ndash
• The Hot Wings were at least tried
• The Red Dog Saloon is pretty awesome &ndash
• In that very special bar I was in more pain than when I walked the Three Peaks
• I think what sums up the whole evening was what my mate said as we looked out over London
• London street into this warm and cosy saloon was so comforting
• The dark atmospheric room with wooden clad walls and essence of Americana dotted all over the place really sets the mood
• My company for this evening was an experienced Red Dog Salooner which eliminated the need to take on 'the devastator' as he had already attempted this and didn't rate it too highly
• The wings were superb with 3 awesome flavours leaving you with totally worth it sticky fingers
• One chilli cheeseburger with an extra 3oz patty and fries for man
• I had the pulled pork Carolina style with the most gigantic onion rings I've ever seen in my life
• MMMMMMMMMMMMM this was succulent and juicy and perfect
• The homemade BBQ sauce was very tasty and there was more available on the table to help yourself to
• Red Dog Saloon is perched on the corner of Hoxton Square
• I'd heard some mixed reviews of the burgers so it was a great opportunity to give it a Burger Me
• This is a burger where ALL the salad is out of the burger
• Or maybe a way to make the plate the burger is served on look less empty
• The bacon cheeseburger was topped with a miserly attempt at a topping
• A 6oz chuck patty apparently cooked medium rare is the core of this burger
• The only redeeming factor was my pint of Camden Meantime IPA
• The onion rings were massively disappointing
• Untoasted bun and unsauced toppings being bad enough crimes in themselves coupled with a complete lack of interest in making a half decent attempt at palatable food
• The most interesting thing about Red Dog Saloon is I've had fans of the blog beg me to add this joint to my list
• Went in and sat down with no reservation
• The devastator is a burger challenge which was conquered and digested ready in time for dessert
• Also one of the best burgers to date
• We thought was a little pricey
• Will be returning for sure with the rest of the team to all conquer the devastator challenge
• Had the pulled pork and ribs combo meal with fries and coleslaw
• Fries were nice and crispy and coleslaw was actually pretty good
• It's a shame that the stand out element was coleslaw I expected more from a bbq joint that came recommended
• I had the smoked blackened salmon with two sides (2 fries
• The atmosphere was loud and busy as we went on a Thursday night
• Favourite homemade sauce was the yellow one (mustard and honey
• I find the decor at Red Dog pretty unattractive but it was nice enough weather to sit outside on the terrace
• My dining companion and I are endeavouring to try all the chicken wings available in Shoreditch/Hoxton so that's what we ordered here
• Some (not all) of the wings were slighty overcooked and dry
• The Buffalo wings were served with a good strong blue cheese dip
• As the salad was a bit rich and cloying and would have really been lifted by some green or red onion
• Went last weekend with my wife for a light meal
• We had decided we were going to go and do the Hot Wing Challenge
• D looked at in advance that the hot wings are coated in a hot sauce made from the naga viper chilli
• Stephen wanted us to have the hot wings as a starter and then our mains but I was insistent we order them with food in case we needed something to take the edge off
• Then your wings were free and your name went on the Wall of Fame
• Our mains we wanted to try as many different things as possible to get a broad taste of the place so my boyfriend ordered the beef rib dinner (which comes with a side of your choice &ndash
• His was fries) and I ordered the pulled pork and pork rib dinner with a side of meaty beans
• What goes better with meat than more meat
• In due course our food arrived and we were pleasantly surprised that our &lsquo
• In just a few moments that pleasant surprised turned to abject gratitude as I tried to douse the pain in my mouth with alternately the cool mayonnaisey coleslaw and great gulps of wine
• The expression that then appeared on his face is hard to describe
• He looked like he was going to do a combination of vomit or cry or have a mental breakdown and just as I was getting really concerned and was going to ask him if he was ok
• When I licked my fingers during the meal (because the rest was indeed worthy of finger licking) the residue was still enough to burn my tongue
• My favourite morsel of them all were the pork ribs
• Coming off the bone easily when torn into with teeth and properly smokey as I expect BBQ things to be
• S beef short ribs were lovely but to me
• My meaty beans had a nice flavour although the beans themselves were a little too &lsquo
• Though that may have been because it was such a saviour when combatting those naga vipers
• The servings were generous but I think we made a good dent in them
• When we were seated it was in a booth in this same downstairs area
• Nevermind if you were any closer to them
• The waitresses were friendly when they were around
• If you want to show how much pain you can endure by doing a hot wing challenge or how many calories you can put away in one sitting during the devastator challenge then this is the place for you
• I felt like some hot wings so ordered 8 Orange Buffalo wings with sides of Collard Greens and fries with a Cusquena beer to wash it down
• I looked up Collard Greens later on and they rank in the superfood category as they are due to their cancer preventative properties
• I think I got unlucky in that the portion I was served contained no ham whatsoever but a massive bone knuckle instead
• I was happy I was able to return it without any complaint from the staff
• I like my wings to have a decent kick to them and the waiter assured my that they were quite spicy
• They were pretty bland and lacking in any sort of tanginess I normally associate with a buffalo wing
• Everyone else assured me their burgers were really good (albeit they were expecting to be asked how they would like them cooked) so if I ever do find myself in here again I'm going for that
• D only ever been to one place in Hoxton and that was the fantastic Breakfast Club
• With some saying that their food was amazing and others saying that their meal was really rather bland
• Being born and raised in East London there was one thing that caught my eye almost instantly&hellip
• Cheap fried chicken is so ingrained into East London culture that it&rsquo
• 2.50p and walk out with a full meal and a can of Pepsi&hellip
• S about the same price as a mega bucket with a side portion of onion rings back in East Ham
• The poppers came swiftly (as starters generally do) and were surprisingly good
• Accusations had stuck in my mind and it was good to get off to a tasty start
• Served on a large wooden slab with the sides perched on the edge
• Decently sized breasts (hehehe) and a rather small leg which was disappointing
• Seeing as it was the easiest to handle and was
• In fact they were both probably juicier pieces than the leg and were f*cking lovely
• The sides on the other hand were kind of disappointing
• The fries seemed to be your average fries with nothing to write home about and the coleslaw was just flat out bleurgh
• All I know is that it didn&rsquo
• The whole eating experience was a mixed bag and so was the actual restaurant itself
• The staff were extremely friendly and talkative yet the interior was ridiculously under lit
• Red Dog Saloon is kind of a hard place to judge in all honesty
• S just to try their burgers for a review and their chicken was nice&hellip
• When I finally tried their cheeseburger I was not deluded
• We also ordered some starters as Mozzarella Sticks which were cheesy and quite pleasant
• The place looks like a saloon and it is entirely made with wood
• I had the Devastator which was nice except the burgers
• This wasn't a massive issue except towards the end of the burger it was dry and hard to eat
• Other than an over cooked burger which was disappointing
• The atmosphere is very good here
• The food is also pretty decent and the staff was also very lovely I had buffalo wings and those very pretty special for me because they were very delicious
• I had been to this restaurant with my better half on a late Saturday evening
• The service is swift and although the place was almost full
• The staff seems relaxed and is always smiling
• The ambiance is lively and fun and happening
• Apart from delicious Spare ribs there is nothing here that would make me come here again
• The service was not at all good
• Red Dog Saloon (Hoxton) is only good for the takeaways and the service is pathetic here
• I had a burger which was a pretty average
• I would also recommend you not to dine in the restaurant as the staff is always rushing the things and you will have a very unpleasant experience at the end of the meal
• Even though there is a lot of conversation going on along with loud music in the background
• The staff could have done with a little improvement on the attentiveness since some of our orders were botched up but otherwise it was nice
• The burger is outstanding
• I was waiting for a long time to visit here as Red Dog Saloon (Hoxton) was recommended by many of my friends
• The decor was pretty nice there and the menu is also very vast
• You must try chicken wings there as according to me that was very delicious
• Yesterday morning I was not in the mood to cook food and hence I zeroed on this option suggested by my partner
• Red Dog Saloon (Hoxton) is famous for the hot dogs that are offered here
• I enjoyed my meal and especially enjoyed the coleslaw salad and the finger chips that were offered with the hot dog
• The drinks here were amazing and the food we ordered simply delicious
• The rest of the food too was great and did not disappoint
• The service too was efficient and very pleasing
• The service is also great
• It was the best birthday meal I have ever had
• They offer some of the best chicken in the town
• The portions are also adequate
• People here mostly look frustrated of the ineffective service which is always seen giving excuses for the delays caused
• The restaurant had a very American feel to it and is quite busy
• As such it is advisable to make a booking beforehand
• The cocktails are definitely worth a shot
• The service was great too and the staff was very friendly and attentive
• Whatever we tried was of impeccable quality and tasted good
• The staff is always amiable and the setting is also quite lovely
• The main course was above average (we ordered the pulled pork sandwich and the hamburger to be on the safe side) and we thoroughly enjoyed our food
• The quantity was just amazing
• The point is that burgers are a commonplace item these days
• A low priced burger which tastes nice is not that hard to find these days
• I ordered a burger with collard greens on the side
• Was later informed that there was not any left
• He was provided with a replacement more than thirty minutes later
• By which time he was already done with the meal
• Red Dog Saloon (Hoxton) is an excellent addition to South American food scene in London
• The food is pretty tasty and the quantity they provide is pretty much filling too
• These guys will give you superb service and that is what I like the most
• The room downstairs is a little dark but it's okay because some people like dark too
• I went here for lunch today and was very impressed
• I'm surprised at those commenting on the poor service as I had an excellent experience with a waitress who was very knowledgeable about the menu
• One thing that impressed me was how they dealt with very hot chilies
• My burger was one of the best I've eaten
• The fries were deliciously crisp and were in generous proportions
• Went to Red Dog Saloon (Hoxton) after hearing recommendations and i regret to say was disappointed
• Incredibly tasteless and cheese topping was unnecessary
• The only worth the price item was strawberry milkshake
• The hot wings here are too hot to describe and you should definitely give it a miss if you are not a very big fan of hot food
• The hot wings at Red Dog Saloon (Hoxton) is perfect for your who can eat more challenge
• The service though at Red Dog Saloon (Hoxton) is not acceptable at all
• We were told some of the tables were indeed reserved
• The service definitely needs to step up for here the standards are not maintained
• Especially the buffalo wings and burger meat which was cooked well
• The drawback of Red Dog Saloon (Hoxton) is that it is quite expensive for what it is worth
• Is just what one is hopeful for and does not disappoint
• The burger I ordered was delicious and did not break into crumbs
• The food here is absolutely delectable and the dishes are mouth watering
• All the food is really well prepared and will always leave you wanting for more
• The only problem here is the unfriendly and inefficient staff
• The waiters were well trained and explained everything about the dishes that we inquired about
• Wasn't too impressed with the BBQ sauce
• Both the other sauces were a bit too high on vinegar for my taste
• I felt the ribs were good enough without them
• Mac n cheese and beans were perfect sides to your mains

• I have visited Red Dog Saloon (Hoxton) earlier but was visiting this branch for the first time
• The place is divided into 2 restaurants one has a bar look and the other one is like an american diner
• We ordered a few burgers with fries and onion rings
• The the food was absolutely delicious and mouth watering
• The service here is also quite prompt
• Red Dog Saloon (Hoxton) definitely is topping the chart of my favorite places around

• The tables are tiny and they cram lots of people in (as it's so popular)
• The setting was not really my style and was very noisy (think it was a birthday) but I will class it overall average

• While the service was friendly it was quite slow as the informed us they had just had a power cut and they did discourage one of my friends from trying the spicy wing challenge
• Even if that was probably for her own sake she does love a good spicy meal so I would have liked to see her try

• It is one of the hottest chillies in the world and the success rate of the challenge is only 5% with countless of Youtube videos of showing contestants suffering badly from the overwhelming heat

• The place was busy and packed with diners chowing down burgers
• One look at those burgers and I was dying to order my own
• Sturdy bread that was holding it all together and had absorbed the juice to its right consistency
• I had the 'wing sampler' which is a selection of 12 chicken wings in all of their 3 flavors (buffalo
• I booked a table for 7 but ended up coming in a group of 4 which didn't cause any problems since Wednesday at red dog saloon is very quiet at 3pm
• I said if I was a waiter I wouldn't tell anyone and watch people suffer xD
• I thought the waiter was just building tension and scaring the customers
• Then the waiter give him a pair of gloves which again I thought he was adding more build up
• When the waiter bought the basket with only six small wings
• The hospital is only ten minutes walk away
• To me and my mates it was unbelievably funny but the waitress just informed us that his tasted buds are now ruined and he is feeling excoriating pain
• The waiter that served us was very entertaining
• Funny and the waitress was very caring
• I loved the patty but I was sad that there wasn't enough pickles
• Visiting Red Dog Saloon was extremely exciting
• I learned that the staff were little educated on what halal
• Despite asking numerous staff members it was all hear say and not 100%
• Having said that I did have a burger (veg) its was quick and without a doubt tasty
• Fun and exciting if there were no restrictions to meat
• Whether you fancy digging in yourself or are planning a group outing
• Went for the classic cheeseburger with a side of fries and coleslaw
• Was a little crumbly with nicely charred bits that were almost crunchy
• The rest of the burger was quality too
• There's wasn't so much of it that it was going everywhere and it did not detract from anything
• The service was really good
• We were sat at a small table for 2 but requested a bigger table to match our appetite and were happily accommodated
• My favourite being the brisket with their table bbq sauce
• Actually it was a toss up between the brisket and the rib
• Coz the rib was awesome too
• Chilli fries were delicious if a little too rich and heavy with the rest of the food
• One portion was a meal within itself
• I have been once before and had the rib which I had to send back as it was as hard as shoe leather
