Electricity Showrooms (Hoxton)

• Electricity Showrooms is hard to miss
• Very friendly staff who are chatty and happy to help about most things
• It's a handsome airy space and it is particularly lovely in the summer when all the big picture windows are open
• So it saddens me to say last night's order of bar food was a disappointment
• We had chicken wings with blue cheese dip
• Cauliflower fritters with habanero sauce
• Wings were nicely flavored in a sauce consisting mostly of srirachi but skin was a little flabby
• Tobacco onions were probably the best of our order
• Sons and a few more if you were to look at the numerous online guides on the web
• So we went off Shoreditch High Street and discovered this venue which was a winner because as it only had five tables full
• I just figured I was glad to be away from the usual Sunday masses around Shoreditch/Brick Lane etc
• I ordered half a roast chicken with the trimmings
• The chicken was partnered with lush roast potatoes
• As most places are normally stingy
• I could see there was a bit of food envy
• Electricity Showrooms was a nice little surprise and certainly deserves its spot on a list if the requirement is good food
