  • Being synonymous with long waiting times

  • It's a great addition to an area which is overwhelmed with diversity from traders at the market

  • Their main dishes are Memphis style ribs and tips

  • Ubiquitous with this cusine

  • The pulled pork was a giant portion

  • 9.50) which were quite tender and subtle smokey flavour hidden underneath the BBQ sauce

  • The house pickles were a bit of a disappointment mainly due to my dislike of beetroot but the vingear overpowered the rest of the pickles

  • The mac'n'cheese was as good as I've had

  • The sweet potato fries were brilliant would have these over conventional chips any day

  • The BBQ beans were a bit bland

  • It helps they are just around the corner

  • The service was friendly and there were loads of good side options a very tasty meal

  • Our order was also taken straight away as nothing else but the burgers were ordered of course

  • Fantastic portion with good quality meat in between the buns

  • The crisp bacon had topped it off for the Pulled Pork Burger but the number 1 burger of the night was the Chilli Burger

  • The chilli con carne on top of the beef patty is what made the burger for us with the combination of the Jack Cheese to serve what was a fantastic burger

  • I tried to go to Porky's once before but was thwarted by its offputting group booking policy

  • Porky's is a no reservations place but if there are enough of you (there were about 12 of us) then you can book in advance

  • Besides having to put down a deposit you are also told that group bookings pay a set £

  • Discovered that Porky's is so cheap it is almost impossible to order a main and two sides and have it total £

  • Quite a sweet little deal for them if people are lazy with their sums

  • It does seem a tad odd that when you are giving them guaranteed custom (and therefore money)

  • The people I spoke to were actually very friendly and nice about the whole thing

  • The pork ribs were of quite a nice flavour the BBQ sauce they came in was slightly sweet and nicely tangy

  • The meat itself was quite tough verging on the unpleasant to eat

  • Especially paired with a mouthful of pulled pork and a bite of the cheesy hush puppies I ordered as a side

  • Hush puppies in case you didn't know are basically cornbread dumplings

  • These were very cheesy and dotted throughout with chillies which gave them quite a kick (a plus

  • Their cheesy crunchiness did work well with the other items in my dish

  • Together they were greater than the sum of their parts

  • Stephen ordered the mac and cheese as his side and we both agreed this was rather good given a much lighter touch than I would have imagined

  • The restaurant itself was a nice place to hang out it was decorated with posters of Country &

  • The final straw for Stephen was the fact that

  • Meat is treated with reverence and when barbequed

  • The result is charred meat that is distinctively smoky and tender

  • S (there are also branches at Bankside and Boxpark Bethnal Green) is low key with engaging friendly service

  • There are classical Southern posters hanging on its exposed brick walls with Tennessee greats such as Elvis playing in the background

  • The lighting is soft and low for a relaxed ambiance

  • The highlight of the platter was the house chilli which was homey

  • The BBQ wings were a little overcooked

  • Our least favourite items were the crab cakes as there was not enough crab

  • The hush puppies which were floury and starchy

  • We also tried the garlic toast which was very buttery

  • Half a BBQ chicken served with four hot links (sausages)

  • Leaving the meat with a lovely smoky charred flavour

  • The accompanying homemade BBQ sauce was gorgeous though and this did much to hide the pork&rsquo

  • We even asked for more it was that delicious

  • The pulled pork was unfortunately a little dry as well

  • All of which can be washed down with cold American and local craft beers or a selection of cocktails

  • Doggy bags are at available to take any left overs home so never fear that any food will go to waste

  • T quite spot on as quite a lot of items were a bit dry and overcooked

  • The atmosphere is unpretentious and welcoming

  • The service is friendly and quick

  • All of our special requests and dietary requirements were met with a smile

  • We ordered the signature pulled pork that is smoked for 18 hours

  • The chicken was smothered in BBQ sauce and the crispy fresh side vegetable made us feel a little bit less guilty for our gluttony

  • Those who's eyes are bigger than their stomach

  • Doggy bags were happily provided

  • My brother had decided that a good equi distance venue was placed in Crouch End and that he fancied a burger

  • Whether this was actually meant on purpose or a health &

  • Some are great and others are just a place to fuel up and move on

  • I had to make the difficult decision between ribs and burger but in the end I compromised and went for burger with the burnt ends

  • The burger itself is made from brisket which meant it was nice and moist and the burnt ends were soft and had just the right amount of fat
