  • The menu is a very exotic one and I was quite excited to try something new

  • I had the Zebra fillet with mash and my partner had the fillet steak

  • My partners fillet steak was so juicy and tasty that I will have that next time

  • I liked how there were halal dishes available on the menu

  • Being a Muslim it always helps when the meat in the dishes are suitable to eat (Yum)

  • I had a smoked salmon with cucumber salad starter

  • Nice smokey taste with lemon juice and crunchy salad which made it a great way to start the meal

  • 400g rib eye steak with hollandaise sauce

  • Nice balance of flavour what would have great is to top it off with a nice cold non alcoholic beer

  • Crocodile meat isn't what we are used to in the UK so it kind of makes u think twice BUT THE FOOD IS AMAZING

  • Food is Very filling with a wide range of choices

  • The atmosphere is like none other

  • To be completely honest the only thing good about the place was the service

  • The wait staff were efficient and friendly hence the 2.0

  • This restaurant is absolutely beautiful

  • My girlfriend and I went here to eat on her birthday and it was one of the most aesthetically pleasing restaurants that I have ever been too

  • With giant Zulu statues and hand carved wooden animals to provide you with an authentic South African feel

  • Marinated with coriander and dijon mustard and served with quail eggs

  • I ordered the crocodile cigars which consisted of crocodile fillet wrapped in a spring roll pastry with coriander and harissa mayonnaise

  • This portion was more sizable than my girlfriend&rsquo

  • S and the meat was very succulent and tender

  • We both ordered the zebra fillet as our main course and were quite disappointed at the small portions we were given

  • Shaka Zulu definitely is a place to have a magical evening filled with wonderful food

  • Delicious cocktails in an exotic decor with exciting African dancers

  • Shaka Zulu is an authentic South African bar and restaurant situated underground in the middle of the stables in Camden market

  • It has a variety of cuisines and is famous for its zebra fillet

  • I went there for a birthday meal and was amazed by the African themed interior

  • I ordered two halloumi skewers with grilled vegetables

  • The chicken was halal so I substituted one skewer with chicken instead of halloumi

  • The portion size was extremely small and didn't fill me up

  • My friends felt the same way and felt that the food was over priced

  • The service provided by the waiters was however exceptional as the staff were extremely kind and happy to help

  • If you're looking for a fancy restaurant with a great environment for a catch up

  • Shaka Zulu London (Camden Town) is surprisingly huge

  • The interior is probably the only incredible feature to the restaurant

  • It was really busy and took us ages to get in but once we were in i was totally amazed at the decoration

  • The colours are bright and they have the most amazing decorations and 'statues' (tigers

  • Personally i thought the music was a bit of a downer for me

  • Though this is due to my music tastes

  • While it's somewhat expensive shaka zulu is one of the few placed I'd say just about justifies the price

  • While you might be tempted to go try one of the game meats for the mains the tbone steak is on a completely different level

  • Was my choice of desert and I was very impressed

  • Great atmosphere with great art on the walls and Brazilian/African statues

  • Cannot get phone signal as it is underground which is the only negative aspect I would like to point out

  • The South African interior is impressive

  • Very big tables with big and heavy sculpted wooden chairs

  • The walls are covered in 3D sculptures of African tribal people and here and there you can see this massive statues with African warriors

  • I was gonna try the zebra or the crocodile steak but that wasn't included in the deal which was disappointing but instead I went for something else which was pretty decent but nothing extraordinary

  • The service was good but the staff looked unhappy

  • I wasn't overly excited thinking it was going to be a celeb type poncy place but was massively wrong

  • Delicious food and one of the best cocktails I've ever had in the Apple Crumble

  • All of the seafood was extremely fresh and tasted really better than other places much more expensive than this one

  • So if you have vegetarian friends is a good place to satisfy any palate

  • The salmon was so fresh and cooked to perfection

  • The decor inside is really original and unique

  • Shaka Zulu London (Camden Town) is often really busy so call to make a reservation because it gets crowded

  • The main was not very impressive but the starter and dessert platters are really good

  • I think Shaka Zulu London (Camden Town) is best catered

  • The ambience of Shaka Zulu London (Camden Town) is unique and out of the box and that is what made me fall in love with it

  • Everything was taking a lifetime to reach us and we were not supplied with our necessities well in time as the waiter was very lousy

  • They informed us that the kitchen was very busy and they were not certain of when the food would arrive

  • The positives about the place include the interiors which was grand in appeal as i preferred it and was complimented with some live music

  • The quality of food is average but the prices charged unfair

  • I would definitely compliment the waiting staff who were caring and efficient even at their peak hour

  • Not the place i'm dying to return too but okay for experimenting with unusual meat

  • I went there on a friends birthday party and I met with the most rude staff of the city

  • The drinks were over priced and I am sure that I won't be returning here again

  • Shaka Zulu London (Camden Town) is open till morning hours for dancing and the music played here is thrilling

  • The cooking here is not consistent

  • My experience here was very different from the reviews I have heard otherwise

  • My birthday outing was a total disaster and I would never recommend Shaka Zulu London (Camden Town) for a big party

  • Even though our table was amongst a lot f chaos and people and hustling

  • The interiors of Shaka Zulu London (Camden Town) are absolutely amazing

  • The cocktails were overpriced

  • The gentry was a combination of young people from work and the sophisticated ones

  • The food is much too over priced for my liking and is not good either

  • The meat lacked any flavors and was not juicy in the least

  • The decor of Shaka Zulu London (Camden Town) is amazing and it will give you great value for your money

  • The food was also very delicious and the staff was helpful too

  • I went there with my partner and she loved the place which is quite unusual

  • Massive Zulu warrior carvings and animal textures are engraved in every centimeter of the walls and ceiling

  • Shaka Zulu London (Camden Town) is decorated with African interiors and you will really love what they have done with the place

  • The style and sophistication of Shaka Zulu London (Camden Town) seem very over the top and actual substance (the food) is something which the place lacks

  • I was not happy with the overall performance

  • The menu needs revision to include better and comprehensive information about the items given that it is in Dutch which is not understood by many

  • I recommend trying the Springbok which is subtle and incredible

  • Another letdown was totally uncaring and apathetic

  • The drinks and cocktails are also quite good

  • The ambiance of the place is quirky and enjoyable along with being comfortable

  • The service is good and the servers are friendly

  • The interiors and the location is pretty impressive but the fact that we were in for a coupon related meal meant the service was unnecessarily uncaring

  • The offer on the coupon was not fully realized and the hefty 12.5% service charge unjust as per the treatment given

  • The alcohol is very overpriced

  • Visited Shaka Zulu London (Camden Town) on a Saturday night with my partner

  • We already booked the tables in advance but as soon as we were about to be seated we were shifted to some other section

  • Both of which were cooked to perfection and exuded the chef's brilliance

  • The skills of his fine art were truly pouring out from even the way the dish was presented

  • My experience was not pleasant at Shaka Zulu London (Camden Town)

  • The interiors are very noisy and the ambiance far from what we had expected

  • Then the service charge was the final straw for us

  • My experience here was a good one though

  • I visited Shaka Zulu London (Camden Town) with the expectation of trying exotic varieties of meat

  • Even though the starters were a bit disappointing

  • An attractive place with a pleasing atmosphere

  • The only incentive was that we stayed for the club to open and entered for free

  • The salmon was fine but ordinary and the crab was fishy

  • The meat was below average and the rest of the cocktails and snacks were disappointing

  • The worst part was their exorbitant service charge

  • The decor of the place is truly mind blowing with elaborate carvings and lots of warrior statues

  • The restaurant is spread on 2 floors and the main restaurant is on the lower floor

  • The main course was also brilliantly prepared

  • The place has an exotic feel to it with bold interiors

  • There is a variety of meat from around the world which is rarely available elsewhere

  • The food was average with a few hits and misses

  • The portions of the food were gigantic and I must add

  • Shaka Zulu London (Camden Town) was a bliss for me and my partner when we visited it on our anniversary last month

  • This is undoubtedly one of the best and biggest South African restaurants &

  • Bar in London and is beautifully decorated

  • The exotic meats taste exquisite and the drinks are utterly delicious

  • I recently tried Shaka Zulu London (Camden Town) and it was quite a wonderful experience

  • As Shaka Zulu London (Camden Town)s is one of the exclusive ones for fine dining

  • The drinks and food is ought to be expensive

  • The service is pretty good with the staff being quite warm

  • The ambience was just amazing and made the whole experience all the more lovely

  • The ambience is quite nice with beautiful surroundings but the service was the major reason that put us off

  • I feel that maybe it was because we were carrying coupons and we weren't going for the whole thing

  • The food was excellent but was served in small portions leaving us wanting for more

  • The service was quick but the staff behaviour was a little terse which made us uneasy

  • The food presentation was quite impressive as well but felt that Shaka Zulu London (Camden Town) was a little too expensive

  • The ambience was nice with the interiors suiting the name of the place and innovative decor but the story ends here

  • The food was awful and as was the service

  • Though the staff was abundant for the amount of customers present

  • The food was pretty expensive for it's worth which really put us off but the only good thing was the good quality wine that we had there

  • All in all it was a waste of money and would not want to visit again

  • The service was quick and organised and the food came out hot (a huge improvement from last year's Christmas dinner

  • ) My only complaint was that they didn't have sauces on the table and I love cranberry sauce

  • The only uncomfortable thing about the evening was that as soon as everyone had finished they rushed us upstairs to free up the table for the next booking

  • Overall nice atmosphere and tasty food considering they were catering for lots of Christmas parties

  • The seabream was grilled crispy on the outside soft and delicious on the inside

  • The yellow tail was also cooked well and the mash was a good accompaniment with the texture of the fish

  • The thing I didnt like was the prices

  • Despite the fact I even for 2 for 1 on my meal with my taste card

  • We had opted for the sunday lunch thinking it would be unusual but it was just a roast so we switched to the a la carte menu

  • It commonly as offers on buyagift for three course meal with cocktail for £

  • I had the Zebra when I was there and my friend had the steak recommended

  • My friend was having a birthday and we were given a complimentary bottle of champagne

  • The chicken from the regular menu is halal only

  • The interior of Shaka Zulu London (Camden Town) is exquisite and certainly worth a trip

  • Slightly over priced but that is a reflection of their interior and atmosphere

  • You also need to pay extra for items that are considered "

  • Like vegetables with your main meal

  • Before you enter the menu is right outside for people to see because shaka zulu is quite pricey

  • It's quite dark and very decorated with animals like elephants

  • Its a underground restaurant but it was very dark lightening which I hated because the waitresses couldn't see me calling her when I need her for something

  • 12 and they have me only 6 oysters and my friend order beef jerky and it was a small portion

  • It's wasn't strong and there was barley any juice or alcohol inside it I felt ripped off

  • The waitresses wasn't doing their job with clearing the tables

  • I hate dirty tables and mine kept on piling with food and I had to tell them every time to clear it for me

  • The entrainment they had that night was a man who is a amazing singer

  • I did not like how I was served or treated because I look young they think they can take advantage of the service because in the end I still had to pay for a bill which cost more than £

  • The ambiance in the place is spectacular

  • Taking you straight into the heart of Africa with its wooden carvings and stone tribal fixtures

  • Springbok and ostrich we were blown away by the flavour

  • Springbok was my favourite with crocodile coming in a close second

  • The staff were attentive friendly but not smothering which is exactly the kind of service needed in a restaurant

  • My advice though get some extra sides with your steak as it literally come s with a hand full of crisps which doesn't fill you up

  • The cocktails were light on alcohol but all in all very lovely

  • One of the best places I have ever been to

  • A lot of African statues and a very massive space with some intimate group seating below

  • This came with skinny fries and I ordered fat chips and Malay yellow rice with the zulu red chilli sauce

  • The rice was also very tasty and went well with the sauce and meat

  • The meal overall was very filling and tasty and everyone was happy with what they ordered

  • A man's dinning table with all you can think menu

  • The drinks are pricey but worth it for once in a while

  • The perfect way to have new and old cocktails with great friendly staff and great surroundings

  • The truth is I was not as impressed as I thought I'd be

  • The most frustrating part of it is that I can't quite pinpoint the reason because

  • All the food was a first try for me

  • The dishes were well presented (you could tell that effort had gone into preparing them)

  • Taste and texture were satisfying and had an ever so slight pinch of mystery

  • It felt like I was having a normal meal in a normal restaurant

  • Maybe Shaka Zulu is just that a normal restaurant

  • The ambience was a beautiful setting

  • Even gave me a sense of nostalgia (I was born in Africa)

  • So much so that there are escalators inside

  • The food is good nothing amazing but lots of variety on the menu and it was good to try something different

  • The layout and decor of the restaurant is really unique so it's worth a try for the experience

  • I'v been here for a few birthday parties and it's always good to come back here with friends the music is always amazing and drinks are on point

  • If you are booking this restaurant via a Group on there are 2 restrictions

  • 1) The offer is only valued for the "

  • 2) Dinning is restricted to 6.45pm on weekends with this offer

  • The waiter failed to tell us some of the items was not on the offer advertised and service was appaling

  • When the bill came we had to argue with the manager to honour the discount

  • The only good thing is when the place transforms into a club

  • Where there are live entertainment and music to dance to

  • Wonderfully authentic African cuisine with the most fascinating wooden interior artwork

  • The food was delicious with an interesting variety of meat

  • M really impressed with the service they provide

  • The rump of lamb was the best with so meat so tender

  • The restaurant is an amazing experience for the decor but the food is fairly average

  • My steak was cold and my chicken wings starter the dip with it just tasted like chopped tomatoes
