  • Don't be put off by the squeeze or occasional queue as the food is decent and reasonably priced

  • Service at the Pepper Tree is a little less hectic and the location is more suited to a pre night out meal

  • The service was always very friendly

  • I would suggest NOT taking the coconut rice with a dish that has coconut inside it

  • I didn't like it as it was there was just too much coconut overload

  • We got here just after breakfast service had finished and their lunch service was another 20 min away

  • Actually we had asked for them to come together with the main so they were apologetic they bought the starters out way ahead of main

  • Because that is totally fine with us

  • Both of these were perfectly adequate although my friend really liked the vinegary dipping sauce it came with

  • That noodle soup were pretty glorious

  • The other friend got the green curry with the side of rice

  • My pad thai was average it had a fairly good portion and fresh bean sprouts and crushed peanuts

  • Overall the noodles felt mushy and the prawns were overcooked

  • The food came out quick and the atmosphere was clean and modern (with long benchs/tables)

  • In the latest Time Out listings The Pepper Tree was voted best restaurant in Clapham

  • From the outside this Thai restaurant doesn't look extraordinary but it is in a great location overlooking the southern end of Clapham Common

  • Partitioned from the pavement with a low divider

  • The staff were welcoming on arrival and we were quickly seated at our table

  • The juice was good but the star was the mai tai delicious

  • The twist here is that everything is spicier and more fragrant

  • The spicy sausages are made to a special Pepper Tree recipe by a local butcher

  • The four beans are spicy too taking the place of baked beans and as well as chilli you'll find lemongrass and kaffir lime showing up in lots of dishes

  • Turns out it was too much for her and she couldn't finish all of it

  • Think of it as a soupy porridge made with meat broth and served with pork balls

  • Our final dish was the rice pudding with fresh mango

  • It is cooked with coconut milk and came out suitably sticky and stomach warming

  • As the pudding is not too sweet we would choose to forego the Greek yoghurt on top

  • Prices are average for breakfast and the food was just what I needed for a Saturday morning

  • I think our visit was summed up best by a kid sitting at the next table who said 'Mum

  • The Pepper Tree is a popular "

  • A typical street food Thai dish of porridge made with meat stock

  • Add a fiery Bloody Mary with Thai basil or a Lychee Mai Tai with Mekhong and you'll be good to go for the rest of the day

  • There are also Thai omelettes with creamed kaffir lime yoghurt

  • Poached eggs with lemongrass hollandaise and homemade Thai spiced sausages amongst other options on a quirky menu

  • Grab a long table with a group of friends and settle in for the morning

  • The charming owners will look after you until you are ready to face the afternoon

  • You're seated on communal tables which are pretty wide

  • We had a prawn pad Thai and the grilled chicken with sticky rice

  • The chicken had a gentle spice flavour and the rice was the stickiest I've ever seen

  • Must say it was quite authentic Thai

  • Only disappointment was the seating arrangement

  • Felt very school canteen and was hard to get cosy

  • The Pepper Tree has re opened with a modern design

  • Recently the place has been refurbished and is under new management

  • The Pepper Tree (Clapham) is made to be all squished together with long communal tables

  • At the top end the open kitchen with manic cooks

  • Only thing is it is the common table seating arrangement so you will have to share a long drawn table with strangers

  • If you are ok with it it's good Thai food

  • I was a little disappointed that all curries have shrimp late which leaves a vegetarian with no rice and curry options

  • The Peppertree is a good local place to eat some Thai food

  • The prices are reasonable (for London anyway) and I've been here a few times before making a review

  • It has been a hit and miss for me as I've been here where the food wasn't great but the service always is and you never have to wait for a table

  • I have never left a negative review in my life and I do realize that this is not a Michelin starred restaurant

  • Dumplings were not bad but the Chicken Pad Thai was terrible and the Chicken wings were so hot they were inedible

  • When we told the manager that they were too hot she just said everything is spicy in Thailand

  • Ginger Martin was refreshing

  • Service charged is not included"

  • 12.5% service charge was very clearly included in our bill

  • S laid out with communal style tables which help to create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere

  • The first thing that you will notice which made us disappointed was the vary loud music

  • The music had nothing to do with this kind of place

  • We were quite happy with the sharing table

  • The sharing table was overload of people

  • We were sharing with other couples

  • I couldn't imagine share the table with weirdos or with people that have no manners

  • I think that none of the dishes we ordered was made in the real time

  • The temperature of the food was not adequate

  • The funny thing was the avocado in the curry

  • We had as dessert yellow bean cake with vanilla ice cream

  • Ginger Martin was well made and Lychee Mai Thai was okay

  • The waiting staff was busy talking each others

  • The service was absolutely disappointing

  • 59 (2 people included a bottle of house white wine) but the price is not comparable to the food and service too much money

  • Probably my expectations were too high for The Pepper Tree (Clapham)

  • This was advertised as a spring special and I was enthused about this dish

  • It was not good and tasted like it was made a day ago and was a very disappointing meal

  • I will never go back here and I advise you to walk away if you suspect the food is stale and if it does not look fresh
