  • This is perfect for a third date with someone who is a laugh a minute

  • Accompanied by cheesy potato skins with beans (not mince pal

  • The Key Lime Pie is buttery and rich

  • S Thirsty Thursday so start with a round of Marmalade Margaritas and then bottles of wine ad infinitum

  • Re making sure your date knows that tonight is no holds barred

  • I went to Honky Tonk with friends for a nice sit down meal with cocktails

  • The restaurant is very well located (only a quick walk from the tube station) and the atmosphere is perfect for young twenty somethings

  • The portions are generous and extremely filling (in hindsight

  • Maybe going for 3 courses was a bad idea) and we absolutely loved the buffalo wings and Long Island Iced Tea

  • My only complaint has to be that the music is too loud to have a good conversation

  • Not if you are looking forward to having a good natter

  • Honky Tonk was very lively on a weekend night

  • The vibe was great with a young crowd and awesome drinks

  • What my friend and I loved the most were the quirky one liners on the walls and the funky menu and interesting cocktails

  • This platter for 2 was well worth the price

  • The pulled pork was flavourful and juicy and the bbq wings good

  • The fried chicken and pork ribs were a little bit dry

  • The drinks were inexpensive and good

  • The service overall was great and its definitely worth a visit if you are in the area

  • The whole lay out here is really cool too

  • Honky tonk is a really nice place to go with friends

  • The area is quite busy but the decor is light and very welcoming

  • The service on the day was slow but the restaurant was quite over run so its understandable

  • The prices are reasonable

  • When we returned thirty minutes later it was a lot quieter and we were walked to an available table

  • The first impressions were that it was very loud

  • It felt like we were in the red light district

  • We did feel like we were being forgotten about because it was sooo busy

  • The burger was great and the relish inside added another layer with the crisp lettuce and tomato

  • The corn on the cob was water logged

  • The 'not'dog was tasty and the veggie frankfurter within was rather large

  • Being that we were so full we couldn't manage them but also because they were way too salty and without any water

  • Overall it was a good experience

  • It's not the best burger I've had

  • There are other burger restaurants in Clapham which are nowhere as busy

  • The crowd is often made up of students and young professionals and this is probably a result of the live music often present on weekends

  • Honky Tonk will leave you with no complaints and keep you coming back for more

  • It's a great place for a night out over the weekend with live music and and now I know that it also serves pretty tasty food

  • Throughout Honky Tonk they have wooden tables with interesting decor on the wall

  • They also have a kind of metal fence in the middle of the room which breaks up the room but also adds to the decor of the cool pictures that are on the wall

  • They have a wide menu with brunch options

  • I went for a Blumdog Billionaire which is the typical American hot dog with onions and different sauces

  • Everything was priced very reasonably and I'll definitely be back

  • I had missed the rise of Honky Tonk in West London but the fact that their success lead to expansion gave me a positive impression so when I was given the opportunity to visit

  • We found that the restaurant was lively which is always a good sign to begin

  • Maybe I'm just impatient or look like a slow reader but even then 10 mins is excessive and would've been longer had I not spoken up

  • A more sensible couple ordered the combo to share with the final order of the 'Not Fried Chicken' rounding out the mains

  • We ordered a chocolate milkshake with Oreos and a vanilla milk shake with Oreos initially with alcohol but we're then informed the alcohol is actually served as a shot separate from the milkshake

  • This made no sense to me but then it was explained that the milkshake was served in a traditional milk bottle so if the alcohol was combined

  • The silence was the all the answer we needed

  • The milkshake itself was fine but it was just as advertised a milkshake

  • Now I think all this American television and their view of portion sizes may have warped my perception of what a reasonable meal for one is because when the Honky Tonk combo arrived

  • Two buffalo chicken wings with peri peri sauce and two portions of rosemary chips

  • Would leave you lacking which was the comment I got from the couple who shared

  • It represents basically double the price of any other main so it certainty is viewed as a meal for two

  • It seems a premium is attached to the variety the combo offered but taking each individual component

  • I'd say everything was just average the buffalo wings were all just sauce

  • ') and the ribs again was just nothing but sauce

  • The saving grace were the pieces of chicken (which even then was a little dry) and the chips but when you're talking about chips as a highlight

  • The 'Not Fried Chicken' main is four pieces of oven baked chicken with special coating served with a apple mustard slaw and rosemary chips and quite easily my highlight of the night

  • The coating was nice and fragrant and chicken cooked well considering it's baked however

  • The kitchen was busy prepping but really was this order any different to that for a big table

  • Surely the pie was already pre made and just needed to be sliced and served so I'm confused as to why this caused any real issue

  • Last night I was here with some friends

  • The Burgers were very good and the presentation was nice on the wood plates

  • Everything was priced very reasonably

  • This a good place to go with your friends and have some fun

  • The regular customers are young drunken people so if you are in bad mood trying to avoid on Friday night

  • Apart from having to shout to communicate with my friend due to loud but lovely music and a packed space

  • The Turkey Burger with goose fat roasted potatoes

  • The pecan pie with rum and raisins ice cream

  • Given the special night the kitchen service was a bit slow but the experience was really fantastic

  • Honky Tonk Clapham is a reliable spot for BBQ and booze that won't break the bank

  • We kicked off with some rum laced cocktails

  • Though there is much better in London

  • You might have more luck with their Honky Dogs

  • The honky Tonk has a saloon feel but with more humor with funny little signs and quotes are all over the walls

  • While the food is admittedly good and filling

  • Then checking out the menu on the website and spying the yummy looking photo of a chocolate brownie with ice cream (I am a complete sucker for this dessert) I was really looking forward to eating here

  • Unfortunately as an eatery it was a real disappointment

  • Then changed it twice (both times they were very accommodating)

  • When we finally arrived we were greeted by a friendly waitress

  • So ordered a passion fruit juice (tasted like it just came out of a carton) and a hard shake (chocolate milkshake with a shot of amaretto) it said "

  • What arrived was an anaemic looking milkshake in 'a vintage milk bottle'

  • Though not advertised it also came with Apple slaw

  • Corn on the cob and Apple slaw (we didn't realise the combo came with a small side of this and waitress didn't mention either)

  • When the food came I was a little surprised by the size of the combo

  • My husband thought they were going to bring out another platter as the portions were so small (they didn't

  • The coating was a bit soggy

  • The Apple slaw was fairly tasty

  • I enjoyed the pulled pork the most especially mixed with the mac n cheese

  • The Mac n cheese by itself was a tad greasy

  • Though can't go too wrong with corn on the cob

  • I ordered the chocolate brownie with ice cream (changed the vanilla to mint choc chip) and my husband ordered the pecan pie

  • The mini marshmallows added to it were like plastic in my mouth

  • 1 spoonful was all I could muster

  • Again the staff were nice and friendly

  • As a huge fan of all things American I was really excited to try out Honky Tonk

  • On arrival we squeezed through the crowds taking advantage of the 5 8 happy hour and were seated though in a quieter room in the back

  • Joining in with the majority of customers we went straight for cocktails

  • A little buzzed it was time for food

  • I went for the vegetarian option which was made up of a hearty helping of roasted aubergine

  • A generous portion of grilled halloumi cheese and guacamole with a side of sweet potato fries which were £

  • Messy and full of actual vegetables that were stacked so high it required two hands and a few napkins

  • The sloppy ingredients were held together perfectly by the sweet

  • The only criticism In have of the food was the trendy silver pot the fries where served in as they made them cold within a few minutes

  • Made up of a spicy burger topped with red jalapeñ

  • Both of us were so full after out large mains dishes that we skipped on desert and went for another cocktail instead

  • S favourite drink with Jack Daniels &

  • My poor decision making skills seemed to go down very well with my man friend who got to drink both

  • Honky Tonk was not fine dining

  • The menu was created using seasonal ingredients with fully traceable meat sources and the portion sizes were generous which for me is key to any authentic american eatery

  • Honky Tonk (Clapham) is a perfect homage to the American dive bar

  • Nice American style bar with typical diner food options

  • Cocktail list is very traditional too

  • We started with the Marmalade Margarita and Raspberry Caipirinha

  • I can say with certainty that these were some of the most well made cocktails I have ever had

  • The husband's quesadillas were more humble in portion and a perfect warm up for the upcoming party in the mouth

  • Well made chicken with perfect buns and relish

  • The ambiance is nice and simple

  • Service is fabulous the lady who served our table was a cheerful person

  • One thing I wasn't pleased about is the loud music

  • When we first arrived it was difficult to find waiting staff to seat us

  • When we went to the back of the restaurant and found them they were very friendly throughout

  • They were okay but not the best flavour or quality

  • The sweet potato fries side was a welcome change from regular chips

  • Portions are filling the half a bbq chicken was fortunately not as big as I thought it would be

  • The chocolate brownie with ice cream for dessert came on a slate and was nice and gooey

  • It was certainly popular with the early 20 something crowd

  • The foot path seating is a great place to watch the world go by

  • The drinks were packed full of fresh fruit rather than artificial flavours which was good to see

  • It seemed popular with others around us

  • The service was happy and friendly

  • It was an OK experience with everything you would expect for your run of the mill high street bar

  • I visited Honky Tonk (following a suggestion of a good friend of mine) yesterday with my friends and we experienced really good food combined with an excellent service

  • Nachos with chicken) my favourite one was Mozarella sticks

  • I have to say that though it was not a spanish/mexican restaurant Quesadilla and Nachos were really good there

  • Comparing with others I have tried before it was far far the better

  • All in all it was really good food (good value for money

  • As well) and the relaxing atmosphere was an excellent choice for lazy

  • I have no idea why Honky Tonk (Clapham) was pretty empty on a sunny Sunday afternoon when The Alexandra next door was packed because it was well decorated with friendly staff and a HUGE selection of drinks

  • The front 'garden' was drenched in sun and be assured

  • The service was great and I loved the decor

  • Really felt like I was somewhere other than clapham (as much as I love it)

  • The service was quick &

  • Popped in for lunch with my partner as I have always wanted to come and try Honky Tonk (Clapham) and I finally did

  • The American diner experience was never experienced with staff who frankly didn't even notice us we were constantly waving our arms about while the staff huddled at the bar chatting

  • The starter and the main I ordered had th same chicken just one was covered in bbq sauce and the other was on a pancake with maple syrup

  • I would say the food was ok but no one wants to pay for ok food especially at these prices when for the Same amount you can go dip and flip

  • Popped in for authentic American dinner with my daughter place was quite dark

  • I can't drink alcohol so ordered asked if they could make me a virgin pina colada but was told they cannot make it

  • My daughter ordered the chicken and waffles which tasted ok except instead of putting maple syrup it was covered in golden syrup
