  • The taste and atmosphere is authentic and close to real Japanese food coming straight from Osaka

  • The reason to visit this little place is the okonomiyaki

  • Egg and batter and then topped with Japanese mayonnaise

  • Here an okonomiyaki is just under £

  • We also got some beef noodles to split but these were less interesting &ndash

  • The okonomiyaki is really the star

  • I have been meaning to come to Okan (Brixton) for ages because I adore okonomiyaki and when I first came across them they were away on their summer holidays

  • We felt a bit disappointed as it was a tiny tiny portion

  • I was super happy with my fresh okonomiyaki and so was my friend with her hot yaki soba

  • The bonito flake topping were dancing as we received our dish

  • My only complain was they only had chopsticks

  • Was served with ice and that was not bad

  • Overall it was a really satisfying meal

  • On weekend this whole area was so busy and really added to the atmosphere too

  • Japanese mayo and sprinkled with green seaweed flakes

  • S okan special with really tasty

  • L was equally pleased with the tofu variety

  • Bonito shavings danced on top of both as the four of us peered with confused faces

  • My okan mix yaki soba was a piece of art

  • Big and bold with plenty of juicy prawns and crunchy kimchi

  • The noodles themselves could have done with a bit more flavour though

  • So although the beef and kimchi yaki udon was well rated it wholly bypassed my camera to b line into P&rsquo

  • The food is slightly under seasoned and you need to remember to bring cash with you (otherwise you&rsquo

  • ) But these are minor grumbles about a top notch eatery and you won&rsquo

  • I tried the okan okonomiyaki accompanied by green tea which was very tasty

  • My friend tried the pork with kimchi which is even better I think

  • Okonomiyaki is a Japanese dish that could be called Japanese pizza or Japanese pancake

  • Different meats or seafood and topped with Okonomiyaki sauce and mayonnaise

  • My friend and me were able to have such a filling and yummy meal for around £

  • 10 different versions are pretty decent

  • Okonomiyaki (a Japanese pancake street food with various fillings) or noodles

  • The great thing about okonomiyaki is that you can choose what to put in it and this customisable element is what this restaurant loves

  • I went for their special which is seafood based and I loved it but you can plea around and create it the way you like it

  • I think the pancake is better than the noodles so get that and then a starter

  • The kagua beer is really good too and rare as it used to be only one guy making it in Japan and it has only recently been licensed to a Belgian brewery too
