Made in Brasil Boteco (Camden Town)

• Food was great except waiting time for food was quite slow
• This favela style cachacaria is perfect for an authentic taste of Rio
• Is mixed with sugar and muddled with fresh lime over ice to make a classic Caipirinha
• Now I find that the Portuguese or Brazilian version is every bit as good
• A few seemingly small dishes were more than enough for two of us
• All food beautifully washed down with a bottle of Vinho Verde

• Stumbled across this gem on a Thursday night with my best friend
• The waiters and waitresses are in Hawaiian shirts and the decor is all reminiscent of a beach shack as you first enter
• The dining area is adorned with mirrors and art work and colourful lamps with the sounds of Latin music in the background
• Two sides to share which gave us more than enough food between us that we struggled to finish but it was all so good

• 'Pastel de palmito' these were four parcels of crispy savoury pastries filled with cream of palm hearts
• I don't like olives or tomatoes but this dish was an exception as the filling was somewhat like that of a spring roll
• The flavours and textures of this dish was really nice and well balanced
• 'Salada com queijo coalho' a mixed leaf salad with grilled halloumi and pineapple cubes and brazil nuts
• The salad went especially well with the seafood from the 'misto frito do mar'
• 'Abobrinha recheada' this was a courgette stuffed with artichoke
• This dish was very satisfying and I liked it even more when paired with some of the brown beans we ordered on the side
• O' a 'no frills' bowl of spiced brown beans that was an indispensable part of our meal
• I would especially recommend these with the crispy seafood platter

• Anyone who knows the area well will know there is already a bar/restaurant called Made In Brasil just a few streets away
• I obliged of course and was assured we could still have our table and the full menu would be available to our group
• If anything we were more excited to be in the restaurant for a Brazil game
• Upon arrival at the restaurant we were told each of us would need to pay £
• We informed them that we'd actually booked a table for dinner 3 weeks prior and were told to still pay £
• A group of 8 were then without any dinner reservation in Camden Town on a Friday night with World Cup Football on everywhere
• The attitude of the manager was atrocious and there is no point in even calling the restaurant to complain as they obviously do not care
• There were money signs in their eyes when Brazil were scheduled to play that evening without a care for anybody else
