Lord Nelson (Southwark)

• I ate here on a friday just recently with friend who works nearby
• Seemingly a virtual restaurant by day and bar by night last food at 8pm the food is very burger centric with home made monster burgers with multi toppings their speciality
• My burger was awesome best i've eaten in
• Chips were hand cut and there was a mini salad in there somewhere
• The nelson staff were seriously rushed and the place was heaving but the atmosphere was great
• Staff friendly and funny (they were doing a weird dance routine by the bar at one point hilarious
• Well worth a visit this is not a byron burger
• I visited this pub last night with a group of girlfriends for a casual drink and a catch up
• Its not stylish in any way but its individual and although filled with a lot of junk
• The drinks were reasonably priced and the atmosphere was chilled
• The Juicy Lucy and the Full Nelson are the ones you must try but I bet that after that you'll want to keep going there to try them all
• Especially with the amount of hardcore burger fan burger joints that have pervaded all central spaces
• Food itself was pretty average
• Haloumi salad generously portioned but padded out with a lot with crap bland leaves
• Wild boar burger complete with egg and Chorizo

• In hindsight I'm not sure why I hastened to believe the speech bubble of a cartoon Lord Nelson as this wasn't even the best burger on Union Street let alone London
• Or a big plate of food for just over a tenner if you're really hungry and can't be arsed with somewhere more proper
• Beautifully cooked meat with a very generous cheese filling
• I'd even warned the burgers were big but god
• Then topped with chorizo and served with an unholy amount of chunky chips
• Service is pretty slow and the bar is small so it can take a while to get served
