La Forchetta (Islington)

• We had booked a table and there were around 20 people
• They did not arranged any table for us and we were forced to seat in different tables which was quite annoying
• We did not see a pizza for more than 30 minutes and we were the only customers
• We would have left the place but it was our friend's birthday and he was already disappointed
• Our pizzas arrived more than one hour later and they were actually good but
• I felt that both the food and service were pretty bad
• La Forchetta (Islington) says it is an Italian restaurant but really the cuisine reminded me of American Italian food
• They bring out big portions but the dishes are made with very average ingredients
• I had the spaghetti alla carbonara and they were just spaghetti drowned in cream and with some very average tasting bacon
• There are several waiter at this restaurant and when I was there they spent most of their time chatting amongst each other
• Even when we were trying to get their attention
• They seemed too busy to notice and as a result the service was extremely slow
• I came here with two friends for some much needed pizza
• Despite the fact we were the only table
• The waiter who brought the fresh batch was apologetic
• The bread itself was still sub par
• To me suggests it was nearing the end of its shelf life
• The pizza itself was thin and crispy
• The majority of the pizzas are under a tenner
• In a city saturated with Italian restaurants
• All the food in La Forchetta (Islington) was far too dry
• Cute italian restaurant on upper street with food better than in the chain restaurants
• Had the Bemmy which was decently larger and had sufficient toppings
• Because was the only one in upper street with a real wood fired pizza oven
• Went for dinner with my brother a couple of months ago
• Without any warning whatsoever and with no explanation
• Similarly smug and offensive was the manager
• Rowdy or obscene (we are both well educated professionals) we did not make any scene
