  • The flavours were simply fantastic

  • Were combined with guacamole and a sort of aioli cocktail sauce

  • I had a dinner there but I was late and I didn't know exactly the address

  • Luckily the third time one of my friend was out to smoke and I finally entered the Sex Shop

  • Yes the entrance is a Sex shop

  • The inside is quite small

  • It's a nice place to share tacos with friends but a bit expensive

  • Frozen margaritas are delicious I vaguely remember a mango flavoured one being particularly good

  • Stunning staff and one of the best atmospheres (and entrances) of a London restaurant

  • It's cool it's different it's out there it's a place you must go once but all that is more for where and how the place is setup

  • It's for taking the photo outside the restaurant (which looks like a sleazy sex shop in soho with neon light silhouettes of girls)

  • Don't go here for the food though coz that really is a big disappointment

  • I think any search for unique and interesting restaurants in London is likely to throw up La Bodega Negra Restaurant (Soho) in the results

  • The space inside is a bit cramped and the food leaves a lot to be desired

  • On top of this the rates are not very cheap

  • I went here with some guys at the start of a night out

  • The square bar in the middle was eye catching

  • Music is played very loudly here at night and the atmosphere is quite dim and gothic then

  • I found the name was hard to remember after one too many

  • A definite must but I was expecting the food to be better

  • Very limited choices and one might say they are ridiculously over priced

  • The service is not that great either and found the place too noisy

  • I found myself in the heart of Soho and the first surprise of the night was that my parents had made the trip down to the Big Smoke to join me in knocking back some cocktails and dining the night away

  • Now normally walking inside a building adorned with neon signs reading "

  • Believe me when I say that the stares and raised eyebrows from the less informed passers by are certainly worth it for the treats inside

  • The restaurant is set beneath the streets in cavernous vaults

  • These things were incredibly delicious and the perfect way to start the celebrations

  • The crab tacos looked rather daunting with their spindly legs poking out of the top

  • The pork belly was succulent and sweet served up with a refreshing salsa verde and covered in a drizzle of lime juice adding to the fresh flavour

  • These were a storming way to start the meal and within minutes they were gone and we were back on the margaritas and chatting away

  • As soon as we were presented with our mains

  • Our other dish was the Pollo Al Sarten

  • Consisted of a half roasted chicken with spicy chimichurri and roast potatoes

  • The chicken was delicious but for me the lamb was the stand out winner

  • Falling off the bone with ease and extremely juicy

  • I opted for the rich Chocolate Torte with Salted Caramel Ice Cream and my dad decided to go for something slightly more refreshing

  • The Baked Lemon Cheesecake with Caramelised Lemon

  • Dishes perfect for sharing and an atmosphere and environment that lets you know you're in for a special night but one that comes with a huge side order of fun too

  • I think you'd get a lot of excited faces once they realised just what was awaiting in the caverns below

  • The ambience is amazing busy

  • As La Bodega Negra Restaurant (Soho) is definitely interesting

  • Except the queso which is pretty tasteless

  • The staff is more occupied with dancing to the loud music than with serving you

  • Walking in through the adult video entrance to La Bodega Negra you instantly know they are pushing the uber trendy

  • We took our seats and I looked around at the dozens of guys with hipster beards

  • The girls unable to walk with heels so high it seemed their shoes were reaching up to pull down their miniskirts

  • The music and the Mexican food it seemed La Bodega Negra Restaurant (Soho) was an 1980s dream come true

  • My tacos were pretty bland with nothing but an uninspiring salsa to liven up the little bit too chewy meat

  • My partners on the other hand were well seasoned

  • I was interested to see how they would pull this off as chipotle is extremely strong flavoured and of course prawns are not

  • The prawns were perfectly cooked but they could have been whelks or snails for all the taste that came through

  • The only noticeable flavour was the charred skin that had been left on the pepper

  • A schoolboy error or is this how they think you make them

  • So overall the food was a pretty poor attempt at Mexican cuisine

  • I had to speak with the manager who sat with me and seemed to appreciate feedback

  • He even joined my table and was a very pleasant guy

  • With a younger crowd and for drinks absolutely as its saving grace is the great atmosphere

  • A nightclub that serves food rather than a restaurant with a nightclub vibe

  • The service was really poor

  • All the staff were very friendly and our waiter was close by and made sure none of our glasses were empty at any point

  • This is the best Mexican I have had

  • The quesdadilla rustica is just addictive

  • It has a thin bread base with juicy roasted tomatoes on top

  • It could have done with a bit more flavor

  • The crab taco was just delicious

  • I also had the octopus which was also very nice

  • Dessert was the best part of the meal for me

  • La Bodega Negra Restaurant (Soho) is perfect for a dinner with friends but I think it is slightly pricey

  • T really mind as the atmosphere was very nice and the food was delicious and overall I had a very good experience

  • This is a festive treat for your tongue and eyes again the open kitchen bursting with smells of tasty food and all the action is just on the corner

  • The ceviche deserves trials if you are intrigued by the idea

  • Once we started with the quesadillas

  • It was hard to stop and we just picked random options to share quite like a game for a group with an appetite

  • The cocktails are not there to complement the menu

  • Aztiki is quite a good one with a rum base

  • The remaining list is full of tequila combinations and quite tempting to go with the food

  • The atmosphere is lively and groovy

  • The waitresses are not just cool but chatty just as much as you would favour

  • La Bodega Negra Restaurant (Soho) is probably one of the most memorable places due to their setting and ambiance

  • The entrance is the best part

  • Really show you how lighthearted and hip La Bodega Negra Restaurant (Soho) is by really pushing the boundaries

  • A service team that is willing to do these small things really change your meal experience for the positive

  • This is where I was disappointed

  • Really was not impressed with the flavours or preparation

  • Given that they are fairly expensive

  • The food here is only average

  • Here they try to serve high end items with fancy names and fail badly

  • Bodega Negra is a really cool hip place which gives to a very nice experience

  • 1 4 cheese) which is really good to share and to accompany a drink

  • Bodega Negra is great if you want a fun night with a Mexican vibe

  • It's really more than just the food with La Bodega Negra Restaurant (Soho) I think

  • The entrance is misleading ('Adult video' sign won't have you thinking it's a restaurant but dare to walk in and you won't be disappointed

  • The taste itself was average and we had to wait for ages before we were served

  • The dark underground venue is cool and provides a great vibe

  • The chocolate potatoes were the stand out dish for me

  • Where the margaritas flow in pace with the conversation

  • Highly recommended in groups of 3 or more as I suspect El Bodega Negro's charm is probably overpowering in such all numbers

  • The only thing on our minds when reuniting with old friends for dinner were

  • We had a cosy corner table with plush cushions I later wanted to lie down on after one too many margaritas

  • I had the Ceviche Baja a delicious and refreshing portion of seabass in a mildly spicy and citrusy sauce topped with what I *think* could be Chinese pear

  • You scoop it up with crispy tortillas

  • I chose the pork belly with pinto beans and shared a side order of roast potatoes with mole sauce

  • The big cuts of pork were also generous so much so I couldn't finish it as it proved too rich

  • It was just velvety and smooth and was a great dipping sauce

  • Our margaritas 'slushies' were small but lethal

  • My only gripe and it's barely a gripe was having to part yell our orders so they could hear us over the music

  • I was taken here by a client and although I was impressed by the decor and walking through the anonymous 'Girls

  • Stopped into La Bodega Negra with a friend when we saw that a place we wanted to go to round the corner had a 90 minute wait (on a Monday evening at 6pm

  • Luckily we were seated straight away here and bagged a good spot by the window

  • We went for classic frozen margaritas which were crisp and refreshingly after being packed into a cranny of the underground

  • Although the staff were super friendly

  • Pretty much all of these plates were from the entradas part of the menu

  • I think that perhaps prices were a little steep for the size of these plates/sides

  • 6 small cubes of watermelon with a tiny sprinkle of cheese

  • Chilli sauce and herbs is not worth £

  • Just make sure you order enough and I'd hazard a guess that the mains are a better size and value for money

  • Not too easy for a catch up with an old friend

  • The place itself is full of character with a great atmosphere

  • Standing out were the beef tacos and Churros for dessert but the main was v ordinary and Freekeh salad pretty poor

  • The store front is a fake strip club and underground is a full fledged Mexican restaurant

  • While the concept was refreshing

  • Sides and salads if you wanted to build up a meal with a few smaller dishes

  • We started with the sunflower corn chips and guacamole the guacamole was divine

  • I had the veggie quesadilla as a main which was spicy and delicious

  • Especially when splashed with a little hot sauce

  • I also sampled a friend's watermelon and chilli salad it's pretty hard to disappoint me when watermelon is involved but it was really good

  • Refreshing and interesting textures with the chilli

  • My meat eating dining companions were all happy with their meals too chicken tacos

  • We sampled the margaritas and we were not disappointed

  • The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was lively the place was full even on a Wednesday evening

  • We mistakenly went to the La Bodega Negra cafe on Moor Street first but as we had made a reservation we were directed around the corner to the main restaurant on Old Compton Street

  • The bouncer next door assured me we were at the right place and we entered through what seemed like a secret entrance

  • Visited here when a few friends were visiting from Dublin

  • From the entrance to what looks like a sex shop to the bar with its walls covered in a little cardboard village and the dining room itself

  • Drinks and service however were the complete opposite

  • What we did order was extortionately priced and actually not that big on flavour

  • Behind the secrecy and mystery of needing to descend below a sex shop you are pleasantly surprised to find a intimate

  • Darkly lit restaurant with eclectic decor

  • I love the whole mystery behind its entrance and the fact that it is in a basement not to mention the delicious mexican food and amazing cocktails

  • Everything is cool in La Bodega Negra Restaurant (Soho)

  • Very well decorated and the staff is very friendly

  • I would give the 5 if the price was just a little bit more affordable

  • I understand we are paying for the whole experience

  • It's always full so make sure you book it with some advance if you want a table

  • Cause my friend was still choosing

  • All other 2 parties got served and my drink was still there waiting turning into water for about 6 minutes

  • Since then both of the groups decided to ask for more drinks and were having difficulties on paying with card

  • When he was about to give me the drink all of a sudden our bartender just wakes up from staring into nothing (and this is not a joke)

  • Apparently said I made her a drink (which was sitting for about 10 minutes now)

  • He came and talked to me and I told him I've waited too long I wasn't even sure he was doing my drink and that the drink has been sitting there for about 8 to 10 minutes and is now turned to water

  • In this case I think it was the supervisor

  • The supervisor was super nice

  • The attitude of that bartender was beyond rude

  • If he came and talked to me so I could explain him the situation and why I ordered him a drink while my drink was just sitting there for 10 minutes

  • Customer Service is a big part on any establishment

  • Although the supervisor was super nice and did everything to amend the situation I will never forget those bartenders

  • Visited La Bodega Negra Restaurant (Soho) when it was one of our friends birthday and she was missing home

  • La Bodega Negra Restaurant (Soho) is a must visit

  • Chocolate churros are super yummy

  • Service wine and ambience were all fantastic
