Excellent roast duck and with much shorter queues than Royal China up the road
-
In Bayswater where to food is just as good (if not better) and better value for money
-
A veteran of the restaurant game with over 35 years experience
-
I put that to the test with a classic order of hot sour soup preceding BBQ pork and soy chicken on rice you can't get more authentic than that right
-
I'm pleased to say that both were fantastic and pretty damn generous too
-
We also order a plate of Thai rice noodles which were also great but I was here for a taste of home and I got it
-
Kam Tong is a snappy restaurant with swift service and a buzzy atmosphere
-
Their dim sum was very good with generous portions
-
Tried a variety of dimsums well it was ok nothing bad to write about but nothing wow either
-
It was all because they were very unwelcoming when we were waiting to be be seated and I said to the manager who took us to our table that I hoped the service would be friendlier
-
It was me and my husband who were really shaken up when left the place
-
I really enjoy Cantonese food and myself and a group of friends were in Bayswater recently and we decided to try Kam Tong
-
The wok fried noodle dishes we ordered were generally pretty decent and so were the soup based noodle bowls
-
We were disappointed with the quality of the seafood items we ordered
-
We ordered prawns with caramelized cashews and some of the prawns were not cleaned well and still had their black veins
-
Quality wise Kam Tong was not near as good as other restaurants nearby
-
What really let this restaurant down was the awful service we received
-
It took 20 minutes to take our order and what seemed like ages later when the food finally did arrive our starters and mains were served together
-
When we tried to complain to the manager he was extremely rude and unhelpful
-
It is one of my 2 favourites on this street crowded with a surfeit of Asian restaurants
-
I heavily recommend the pumpkin shaped fried dumplings and the pork ribs with fermented black beans is outstanding
-
They have sweet dim sum too which are a lovely way to end your meal
-
I've had to content myself with poor attempts of this superbly flavoursome soup at home
-
Most staff know the hidden ingredients (a complicated thing in Asian cooking) in the dishes and will happily reconfirm with the chef to assure you of the presence/absence of allergens
-
The staff is very helpful and a couple of them are now familiar enough with our presence to begin talking and joking with us
-
Went there with a group of friends staff was courteous
-
Soup was good too with really good vegetables
