HK Diner (Chinatown)

• Legendary place with THE BEST Peking Duck ever
• Also must try is the Kung Pao Chicken
• Prices are how normally prices are for bubble tea (perhaps a bit more on the low side)
• The service was sooo quick and the food was too good but then the prices went up and the standards slipped
• Hopefully when I go again all is well but for now it's not on my favourites list
• We decided to come here a few days later on a weekday for an early supper and at 6PM the place was practically empty
• Since the dinner rush had not started the waiters were more relaxed
• The Kung Po Prawns was exceptional as was the egg fried rice
• The waiter recommended the bubble tea which was a first for me
• I asked him which flavour he liked and he said his favorite was the Taro Tapioca pearl
• I ordered the same and was not disappointed
• Are some of the most loved comfort Cantonese items so you can always see the place is packed with Chinese students thanks to its cheap price
• Be aware the service is pretty awful like most other venues in China Town
• I would suggest the baked pork chop with spicy pepper as the robust savoury aroma is just so inviting with just a hint of smoky element from the baking process
• It tasted just like water with milk and sugar
• The beef brisket noodle is better than another "
• The beef brisket is soft and tender
• The noodle is more chewy than wong kee's (but both beef brisket and noodle can still be better)
• The 1.0 rating is for the poor milk tea
• The duck with pancakes is also delicious
• Surprisingly not only was the food great but so was the service
• It was my first time trying mapo tofu and it was not disappointing
• The tofu was soft and the sauce was flavoured well
• The fish kind of freaked me out because the head was still attached
• The sauce was sweet and sour with onion and chillis
• The crab meat was soft and flaky although hard to eat it was worth the trouble
• I would always order the sweet and sours chicken with egg fried rice and he would order ma po tofu with egg fried rice
• The bubble tea was amazingly tasty
