• This was the tag line that was prescribed to us in the week coming to the birthday party we were to have in Hispaniola (Strand)
• The sentiment is sound in theory what could be more romantic than a meal on an
• More likely it was the fact that this was restaurant first and boat second
• Perhaps that's why the rocking was so unsettling (and for some of us
• The rest of us who are just going for the food and dining experience
• I would say that there are plenty of other options out there for a fancy night out
• I came here for a friends birthday and when we arrived the place it's self was empty so we kind of got the run of the place which was fun
• Also in the back of our mind a bit worrying as it was a Saturday night
• As it was low tide was almost straight down and a bit of a struggle for the heel wearers of the group we finally got inside the little quaint bar part
• 8.50 for a double) and the service was a bit lack lustre it was almost as if we had disturbed the bartender on his break or something
• Even if it was played off as a joke I was impressed with that
• The views that you got to see while you ate where amazing once you got over the initial rocking of the boat but one side of the table was forced to stare at the dock wall
• When the menus arrived they forgot to bring the right amount so we had to request another which was a small pain but nothing overwhelming
• We were eating from the autumn menu which I have to say everything seemed to jump of the page when I was trying to decide what to eat
• I ended up going with the Salmon and caviar for starter and the Belly of Pork for my main
• The presentation of the dishes was amazing everything looked like it had actually been carefully thought out and placed with care and love
• Even the measly salad that came with it was good
• The crackling was beautifully displayed and the mash potato effortlessly placed beautifully on the plate beneath the belly
• I'll have to admit was rather upsetting
• I left full and I didn't feel like an hour later I was rummaging through the cupboards for a snack
• Sunday spent sitting on a boat deck in the sun with good company how I wish I could do that every week
• My friend surprised me with lunch on a boat with a great view of the London eye
• Service was no that impressive but the food was pleasant and nice atmosphere the boat was quite busy with a very diverse crowd
• The caramel whisky mousse is quite interesting
• The cucumber martini is also refreshing
• Go for the experience of enjoying a sunny day with a friend and sit on the deck
