  • The cocktails were mixed by obviously skilled bartenders and for the quality were not excessively priced (I've paid more for worse drinks)

  • Service went beyond expectations and the staff was particularly friendly

  • The cocktails were of course top notch also

  • I happened to be there with a friend of mine

  • My friend ordered the seafood linguine which while spicy was good value for £

  • It was just the pie though and while it was ok I think if you want someone to pay £

  • 11 for just a pie is should be exceptional

  • Service was hit and miss which is why I thought the 12.5% automatically added service charge was a bit cheeky

  • I've been told I'm not allowed to leave a horrendous review of my next check in with a certain curry blogger

  • Because hipster cocktails in the City are in now apparently

  • Next up was a Skinny Lovely Bubbly which had green mint and sugar round the rim which was lovely and I managed to drink it with complete decorum

  • Companion had a Honey and Spice with whisky and honey

  • Came in a half pint glass with a handle and looked like beer

  • Round three involved a tea pot and a Julep cocktail that came with a strainer to drink through

  • This was rather confusing and there was much discussion around whether I'd left a glass to pour into on the bar

  • In the teapot was an 'all that glitters is gold' cocktail

  • Was kinda lame because there was no gold or glitter

  • The Happenstance is a pretty cool speakeasy type venue that's perfect for Friday drinks

  • Unfortunately the service doesn't match up to the atmosphere and at the end of the night after a few rounds of cocktails we were left with a table full of glasses

  • If drinking cocktails out of various different vessels is your gig then its all happening at The Happenstance

  • We tried a number of drinks on the menu including the Autumn Ramble that came in a flask and was poured into tumblers hidden within sweet bags

  • Other cocktails we sampled included 'All that glitters is gold' that came in a tea pot and wasn't gold or glittery

  • The latter left me with somewhat of a sticky mess on my hands and none of the drinking paraphernalia we accumulated over the course of the was ever cleared away

  • Speakeasy type bar in central London with a great range of tasty cocktails worth sampling

  • I ordered steak med/rare and it was quite tough

  • If only the food was as good as the restaurant

  • We started off with a couple of glasses of bubbly

  • It just looks beautiful and we had some really big comfy chairs to sit in which was great for a relaxing Sunday lunch

  • Visited the Happenstance with my mum on a fixed menu set deal I

  • Cor was modern and the venue was large so it was

  • Imagine it is a great place for quick after work drinks as

  • Seems to be the best central point for us to meet after work

  • The Happenstance is part of the Drake and Morgan group with restaurants dotted around London so I am on a mission to visit them all

  • Ve had a proper Sunday Roast so I was very keen to fill my belly with fine slices of red meat and Yorkshire pudding

  • Thankfully at the restaurant I saw a very happy and familiar face which was Edgar the restaurant manager

  • S Place so it was sooo good to see him

  • I was a little hungover that day and he fixed me up with a virgin Bloody Mary to wake me up

  • S interesting is that their menu is consistent throughout the Drake and Morgan restaurants

  • I feel like the whole experience is not what you order and eat

  • He ordered the poached egg on a bed of English asparagus with hollandaise sauce

  • The asparagus was well cooked and crunchy

  • T like runny eggs but the poached egg was perfect &ndash

  • Yorkshire pudding with horseradish sauce accompanied with a family style roast potatoes

  • This was what I was waiting for and I was the pain in the arse for taking loads of pics before we could start eating

  • Off course my friend understood but I made it as quick as I can as I know that the rib of beef was not made to be served cold

  • T feel any more patriotic than a homey meal with my favourite Yorkshire pudding on a plate

  • The portion was just about right so you can make room for desserts later and that&rsquo

  • Not only did I have a food coma but the seat I was in was so relaxing I could lay here for another couple of hours

  • I ended my marathon of 3 course meal with a chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce

  • Edgar was lovely enough to show me around and I had no idea that there was another dining room at the back

  • The Happenstance is a Drake &

  • I'm definitely going back with a proper cam to show you guys how pretty the place is

  • We were particularly impressed with their vast cocktail menu

  • S first and best restaurants but what none of them offered was casual dining and mainly catered towards &ldquo

  • People want to dine more casual and in turn service is getting more casual

  • I thought I had happened upon a busy city bar with loud music and dim lighting

  • We were whisked off towards the back of the surprisingly large building and taken to a vast modern looking restaurant which was much quieter than the front bar section

  • The cocktails were delightful as were the starters / the satay sauce was on point and the fancy fries with honey and chilli on were good too

  • I had mac and cheese and a friend had the steak sandwich which was nothing to write home about

  • Arrived to a relatively empty restaurant but by 1pm it was packed so arrive early or book

  • We all had burgers mine was wagyu which was tasty and different fries (my roman fries had a vague truffle scent but didn't deliver on truffle flavour although they were still good fries

  • Happenstance is a good place to chill after long a day
