Goddards At Greenwich (Greenwich)

• Goodards pie and mash was my budget lunches meals for £
• The chicken and mushroom pie is the best I had in London
• The mash was a bit of disappointed it tasted bland with no flavour
• In my uni days Goddards At Greenwich (Greenwich) was a life saver
• Just as they Cutty Sark was reconditioned and given a re birth so did Goddards
• Even with a Nandos and a Burger joint newly opened this is still by far the most honest
• The only reason this got a 4 and not full stars is because the super efficient way of ordering sort of makes you feel like your holding up the line
• I usually like pies have a good crusty pastry but I thought since I was in England
• Was to eat pies with gravy huge mistake
• Condiments on the table and chairs felt sticky but Mr L told me that this was kinda expected
• Not sure if he was pulling my leg
• I chose the steak and kidney pie with mash (£
• The kidney taste was strongly present but the filling only consisted of steak and gravy which I find was quite salty
• Lunch was ok but was very ordinary
• It gave quite a nice welcome feeling as you walked in but when you are by the bar to order
• Both the queue and service moves quite fast and while the service was not abrupt
• On the menu means pies with mash where prices start from £
• Goddard's pies are quite a simple and regular lunch
• I do suspect the big play on being traditional helps with their trade among the tourists in Greenwich
• Mash and Jellied eel are a dying breed these days
• So it is always good to come across one which is trying to keep the flame alive
• We followed the recommendation of the staff on the pairing of the pies with the sauces and drinks and they were spot on
• Mash and peas combo is pretty big
• While they're not the best pies in London
