GB Grill and Bar - Bermondsey Square Hotel (Bermondsey)

• The restaurant is open plan but you have the choice of sitting in a booth which I loved as I was out with my girlfriends and we felt like we had our own little exclusive table
• The staff were smiley and attentive which is always nice to see
• We thought it would be an idea to eat some small plates to go alongside our multiple bottles of wine we were drinking but small plates there were not
• The portions were a good size and even though there were a few of us picking away
• Overall my experience was great and apparently the restaurant dé
• They were willing to customise the order too and it was great to see that they were so accommodating
• Would definitely pay another visit question is whether it will be for breakfast or lunch
• Seemed like the perfect setting to catch up with a close friend I hadn't seen for agessss
• I know the place used to be connected with Greg Wallace off Masterchef so I was intrigued to see how it was faring without the celebrity tag accompanying it
• Luckily we were able to get a booth which gave us the seclusion to have that good ole chat and find out each others trials and tribulations for the last few months
• The prices are a bit higher than your average grill the place has a casual feel although other tables are never too intrusive which is nice

• After a taste my friend was complimenting the sauce before I had even put it on which shows the natural flavour of the good quality meat
• The chips weren't quite as I like them unfortunately (I prefer thin cut fries) however I did finish the portion and it is the expected variety of a good british grill
• The flavouring did make up for it and we were nibbling away at the bones to make sure we got every last bit (It really must be done
• Washed down with a nice bottle of the house wine the total came to £
• 54 (including service) which is very good value in my opinion for a nice night out
• An additional note was the excellently attentive service
• The waitress was very nice and friendly the service was very slow
• We waited around 45 minutes for our food to arrive and were on the verge of walking out
• The portions were undersized and very bland
• My friend had the sea bream which was full of bones and overcooked
• My pork belly was not great either
• The crackling was chewy not crispy
• The one redeeming fact was the ice cream was nice but it did come
• When the sun is out GB is one of my favorite places to hang out
• This one day I did step out of my comfort zone and I ordered Fish and chips which was not great but it was partly my fault ordering Fish and chips at a grill
• I will have to say that the best thing about GB Grill is their location
• Located very discreetly in the Tower Bridge area I was delighted to spend a couple of hours during my lunch break here
• There were a few hiccups in service such as one of the mains being brought out with the starter but the food couldn't be faulted and that's what really matters
• I could have easily been content just having that for lunch but I'm glad I had some room left for my main which was a tender pork belly in ciabatta with apple sauce
• The atmosphere is very bright and comfortable and we would have loved to continue enjoying it over a coffee or dessert but unfortunately we couldn't get anyone's attention for over thirty minutes
• Ironically we came here after going to a food market (we decided after walking around that it was way too cold to eat outside) but I'm so glad we did
• Was a bit early so the restaurant was very quiet but the wait staff were super friendly and helpful and prompt to come take our food and drinks orders
• The burger is made of 5 different cuts of Angus beef and was juicy and flavourful
• Served with crunchy yet fluffy triple cut chips and then the meat was served in a soft
• I didn't try my compadre's chicken but the coleslaw it was served with was fantastic
• And as a taste card meal the value was pretty unbelievable
• The other thing to mention is that GB is alcohol free
• In it's stead there were delicious lychee mocktails and faux mojitos
• This is a great venue with charming feel
• The bar staff were friendly and helpful
• The angus steak main was perfectly barbecued
• The vegetarian option was top notch for a steak house
• The service was prompt and friendly
