Garlic & Shots (Soho)

• The first thing that crossed my mind was that it was in desperate need of refurbishment
• The atmosphere was dingy and the lighting was minimal to say the least
• The paint on the walls is chipping and most of the furniture needs replacement
• I was shown to a corner table where the lighting was so bad I was finding it hard to read the menu
• It came in a shallow dish with five small chunks of luke warm chicken
• The only saving grace to the place is that the service is good
• We were suddenly in a very tiny room a bit crowded (nothing easier considered the dimension) and with loud music
• At first it is quite a shock then the taste afterwords is pleasant
• Back when the liquor licensing rules were tighter and all the bars shut at 10.30pm you could still get a drink downstairs in Garlic and Shots
• With bottles of tequila with lizards in them and a menu of 101 different vodka
• The creme de la creme of Olssons' drinks is the 'blood shot'
• Garlic and tomato juice shot that goes down the gullet with the same speed the chilli shoots up your nose and enflames the back of your throat

• One more condition you should like garlic too ( as the name suggests that is pretty obvious)
• If you like shots and metal music this is your perfect place
• There's not much space but if you are lucky enough to get a table just sit down and pick some shots
• 3 and they are quite strong
• It is something unusual to take your friends to as even if they are not into that type of music and decor they will appreciate how unusual it looks
• The Garlic Meatballs are the most delicious thing I have had in a long while
• The bloodshot was pretty good
• In fact the only thing I don't love about it are the toilets
• They're pretty grim which is pretty bad for an eatery
• On the first floor you have the restaurant reservations are almost always necessary although if it's early a small group may get lucky with a walk in
• I highly recommend the chicken quesadiila the portion is generous and it's a really flavourful
• The corn tortillas topped with halloumi are fantastic for a lighter bite
• You have to have a side of the garlic bread not only is it amazing
• Drinks options can be limited beer choices are very few and soft drinks are limited to Coke (full fat) and Sprite
