The French House (Soho)

• Totally unpretentious with friendly staff and good selection of beer and wine
• Mostly packed with locals escaping the false schmaltz of other Soho watering holes
• The French House located in Soho is an fabulous and entertaining spot to raise a glass in London
• Royalty bohemians visits this venue to catch up with for a drinks
• No television and phones rule makes it a haven for conversationalists and a firm favourite among some of the best known names in showbusiness
• The venue itself is tiny so you most likely have to start by standing and hoping that someone would leave eventually do you can grab their seat
• The service is quite quick and the staff is friendly until you make the one fatal error
• To be honest I think that's ridiculous as you are risking losing your seat just to be able to tell one of your other friends who's a bit late how to find you in the pub
• It's not like I was there to spend the night talking on the phone and if it was up to me I would have left right there and then
• The other thing that I thought was a bit annoying is that they do not do pints
• That's because I was with good friends and definitely not because of the venue
• As there's lots to chose from so you don't have to deal with that drama
• It really feels like being in a bar in France with wine bottles covering the walls
• A true traditional pub with a no technology policy
• The Breton cider that everyone touts is really is worth trying but then so is the experience of raising a glass in a genuine historic and still vibrant club
• It's a great place to relax with a glass of wine and chat or just sit quietly in the corner and just watch people
• A must visit if you are wandering around Soho in need of a drink
