Fish Market (City of London)

• Last weekend I was invited to review Fish Market in Liverpool Street
• Fish market is situated in the ground floor of the Old Bengal Warehouse
• The restaurant was very quiet with only a few diners sat out on the terrace
• We were quickly seated inside the restaurant as although the terrace is heated and blankets are provided
• Bread and water were given for free
• Sadly the butter was cold and difficult to spread
• Rich and over flowing with amazing foodie options
• The set menu is also a really good option if you&rsquo
• Our friendly waitress was happy to discuss our chosen dishes to us and explain how the menu is broken up
• The chips provided with my FLT had a real smoky note which worked well with the freshness of the fish
• Sadly my bread was not buttered and the sandwich really needed a wetter element to hold it together
• The sandwich was very big but this reflected the price (£
• 9.50) and was overall very tasty
• The sandwich was tender and yummy
• The fish pie was the star of the table
• The potato topping was not too thick
• The sauce was finished with sweet leeks which elevated the flavour to another level
• Throughout our visit to Fish Market the staff were incredibly polite
• Visited Fish Market (City of London) for my birthday and was so exited to eat the fish
• Had to inform the waiter when he asked and he was very apologetic and in the end the appetiser was not charged because we barely touched them
• Major props to the manager who was very gracious and did for us
• Shrimps and fish cakes with French fires was decent
• Front of house was friendly and efficient but the kitchen was appallingly slow
• We started with Colchester oysters which were perfectly loosened from their shells
• First to arrive were the sides we were sharing
• The Asian slaw was a nice mix of finely julienned carrot
• Cabbage and red onion but way too salty being dressed solely with Thai fish sauce and sesame oil and black sesame seeds
• Everything was off the regular Fish Market menu and fairly priced
• The bread was the best part of the sandwich
• 12 for a sandwich with indifferent filling and some excellent bread is pretty steep
