I love Oysters so couldn't be happier than when I am ensconced at the bar in J Sheekey with dozen Lindisfarne Rock Oysters in front of me
-
The staff are always incredibly friendly which is good as they are usually about a foot infront of you at all times
-
The bloody mary's are also brilliant
-
The decor evokes a lost era of glamour and the atmosphere is serene but bubbly
-
So unsurprisingly they have a very extensive menu with a lot of variety
-
Everything on the menu is fresh and is very well done
-
We started the meal with a selection of oysters for the table which was pretty cool
-
This must be London's best fish restaurant
-
The menu really needs studying and is crammed with fabulous fish dishes of course
-
Definitely recommend for a touch of class and tradition with amazing fish
-
We're all guilty of it and I'm no exception there is a reason the phrase "
-
Though these stalwarts are familiar territory to London
-
This visit was to partake in the Lobster Festival because I FREAKING LOVE LOBSTER
-
All the food was delicious and I thoroughly enjoyed it
-
The steak and lobster was a real highlight and was cooked to perfection
-
The service was pretty poor and maybe it was just our waiter but we struggled to get the staff's attention on numerous occasions
-
We left after the mains as we'd invested nearly 2 hours into the meal already and dessert was nowhere in sight
-
Maybe this is an isolated case and I caveat I haven't been back so this was just 1 experience
-
Impeccable service with a cozy and romantic atmosphere
-
The starter of fried courgette flower and burrata is to die for the courgette flower was in the lightest of batters
-
I had the sole that was accompanied with a delicious bearnaise sauce
-
Sweet caramelized figs with mascarpone ice cream and amaretti
-
A wide collection of it so there was a lot of choice too
-
When I talk about an Oyster is not about the tube but the J Sheekey Oyster Bar
-
You really only need the portion for one which is more than adequate
-
It started out good with delicious fresh bread
-
We then had oysters which were pretty good as well
-
Chili and cilantro vinaigrette offered along with the classic mignonette
-
We ordered 2 sides which were less than exciting or even good for that matter
-
The other was a version of Ratatouille though not described as such on the menu so we were a bit surprised by it when arriving
-
J Sheekey (Covent Garden) is like a classic English restaurant with its decor
-
Very friendly staff and food was not too bad
-
The cold shrimps were fresh and nicely presented
-
The seared scallops were a little over cooked in my opinion
-
The flavour was not to disappointment at all
-
Just the scallops were a tiny bit rubbery
-
Especially when they are all grown up and lead their own interesting lives
-
I am also abundantly blessed with a high flying legal eagle daughter in law
-
In the SW London area is safe from our giggle and cupcake fests
-
Simply because fancy places are too rich for my pay grade
-
The Irish oysters are by the far the best
-
The octopus is an absolute must
