The Duke Of Sussex (Acton)

• The Duke of Sussex is a Chiswick pub from the Victorian era
• The main dining room is attractive
• The little kitchen is open to the dining room in one corner
• The sourdough bread here is made from scratch in the kitchen
• Beetroot and hazelnut was attractively presented
• Pea and watercress was topped with a rather unnecessary blob of crè
• The soup itself had reasonably good flavour and the seasoning was fine (12/20)
• Guinea fowl was served on the bone
• Vegetarian paella was nicely made
• The rice had good texture and the vegetables were cooked properly
• 10 corkage was just £
• The Duke of Sussex is a very enjoyable local pub
• The wine list is modestly priced
• A Rioja Bodegas Urbina was only around twice retail price at £
• One feature that endears me to them is that actually make their own sourdough bread
• Seafood paella was nicely made
• Everything was covered in thick dust and grease
• The food counters were plastered in raw meat
• Great to offer standard pub food menu with authentic Spanish
