The Crown & Shuttle (Shoreditch)

• All of whom are joyous at the immediate combination of booze
• I have been there on a Saturday night and the place was literally full
• The music played was various and nice to hear
• They alternate dancing songs with songs to sing and relax
• The drinks are okay and what you can expect from a pub
• I would suggest going with a group of friends on the weekend because I had a lovely experience
• Shuttle located in Shoreditch is a really nice place
• Both bar areas and the garden were buzzing with a mix of cities and creatives but it didn't take us long to get served
• Service is brisk with a decent wine list and quite an extensive beer menu
• You're met with a unexpectedly large garden
• Destination less doors are scattered throughout and there's a real welcoming feel here
• Food's ordered at the bar and there's a great mix of smalls and larges spicy wild white prawns with garlic caught my eye
• Others around us were opting for the chicken wings with mango chilli salad and BBQ spiced pork ribs
• We opted for a bowl of stringfries each that come with a seasoning of your choice
• The Crown and Shuttle is a popular bar on Shoreditch High Street
• During the week it is a good place for after work drinks as there is a nice a buzz of people in the bar but on Friday and Saturday nights it is jam packed
• Inside the bar there is a lovely friendly atmosphere with a mix of different genres of music playing in the background
• Outside there is a gorgeous beer garden with fairy lights and heaters where you can enjoy your drinks until about 10.30pm
• I've walked along that stretch of road and not noticed a publike venue or even anyone working on renovating a building and then one day there was a fully formed
• I must have gone past it when it was only just opened as it took me quite a while to discover its origins on the Net
• Finally I found out that it had been refurbed from the remnants of a pub (which was possibly a strip club at one point)
• They seem to have a penchant for beer gardens the one at the Water Poet is sprawling and they have done the same here
• There are basically three sections to the pub the first third is what must have been the original pub building
• Then the massive beer garden so big it holds a street van with pizza oven within it
• The first time I went was on a Saturday (before Electro Swing) and had no idea it was so vast so it was a rather lovely surprise
• Especially as there were so many of us
• The weather was too chilly to enjoy the garden but we did appreciate the faux woodstove that was in the corner near our group
• It's decor is woody but a light sort of pine wood
• My last visit was on a Friday and markedly different
• Getting to the bar was a chore and a half clearly all the local workers in the area had caught wind of the place and were all there
• Fair dos to the bar staff they were in no way slacking
• Maybe not one for a Friday night if all you want is a quick drink but definitely a welcome addition to the area
• The prices are slightly higher than other London bars but it is a good choice
