Craft London (North Greenwich)

• The dish making waves here is Craft&rsquo
• A whole duck is baked in hay and a coating of river clay
• Swap skiing stories and regale each other with tales of bygone gigs at the 02
• Finish off upstairs with some carefully curated cocktails
• On July 1st a state of the art driving range is opening next door
• The cocktail ingredients are almost entirely British sourced too
• Craft London is a project by Stevie Parle and Tom Dixon
• Set lunch and a 60 minute menu if you are looking for something quick before a show at The 02
• I have been to a few concerts here and there is no shortage of bars and restaurants in the building for pre concert dining
• The fact that it is a collaboration with Tom Dixon tells you everything you need to know as he is an OBE self taught British designer
• Then there is the food to keep you interested
• Whilst the service was quite formal
• Our first course was stichelton (a raw milk British blue cheese) and montgomery custard
• The octopus was not too chewy and the flavours perfectly complimented them
• Third up was Pork Belly (which appeared to be glazed with soy or suchlike)
• I love the way skin was crisp and browned off
• The bar in Craft London (North Greenwich) is very inviting and I would suspect that late evening
• There is a good vibe here with cocktail drinkers

• The idea is for the chefs to come up with some very testing flavours before deciding if it is worth making it onto the main menu
• We thought it might be the best time to try
• Test Kitchen Tuesday is a promotion that runs on every Tuesday from now until the end of the year which consist of a five course meal for £
• Maybe it was not such a wow scene when you consider the building works going on but it was still a moment to soak in this part of London
• I reminded myself that I was not going to miss their fantastic offer and the experimental dishes of their Test Kitchen Tuesday
• The restaurant space is circular and with window panes
• Therefore the lighting and ambience was also depended on the external environment
• The lighting is low and intimate
• Seats in the inner circle are designed for larger groups
• The table tops were laid with stylish stone floor tiles and fixed to the floor
• Tables nearer to the window panes were more normal
• They were all very professional and attentive with minimal intrusion
• I see that Craft has a team of chefs with sound knowledge in the cooking skills and collectively they have an interesting palate
• I am glad that I tried Craft with the Test Kitchen Tuesday offer and would not mind paying a visit to the drinks bar on the occasional visit to Greenwich
• The prices are reasonably cheap
