• Mike and I are currently in the process of buying a house in East London that was last decorated in the late 1970s
• The bathroom fittings are pale peach
• The floors are lined with the carpet equivalent of a terrible migraine
• An elderly lady with an impressive collection of arm wrestling trophies
• Retro cafe/restaurant with a new breakfast menu
• Open from 8am Coin Laundry serve unique breakfast options such as grilled grapefruit with brown sugar
• Situated at the top of the Market this restaurant and bar which was launched late last year offers nostalgic British comfort food
• I recently went to try their all day menu on a very rainy spring day and I was very pleasantly surprised
• Retro food with a retro soundtrack
• Nice simple uncluttered decor with tables quite far apart
• It's been a while since I have been in a restaurant where there is no chance of following the conversation at another table
• We started with a bar snack of crispy anchovy
• With a cockle butter that tasted of preserved lemon in the background and served with a pleasant creamed kale
• Very crisp and sprinkled with pan fried garlic greens
• Very tasty and redolent with heady garlic
• Spinach salad garnished with crispy capers
• When I mentioned this to our waitress we were offered desserts on the house as compensation
• We ate at a discounted soft re launch price as they are testing out a new menu
