The Clarence (Westminster)

• The Clarence is an attractive pub on Whitehall just off Trafalgar Square
• The menu selection is mostly posh ish pub nosh
• There is live music on occasion and the feeling is of a comfortable and swanky city pub with a little soul
• The wine list is impressive if a little expensive
• The medium rare burgers with a nice relish for £
• Then how often is that the case
• None the less it was still a pleasant experience
• The bar staff were very friendly and chatty
• The highlight was definitely the bowler hat lampshades over the bar
• It was pure serendipity that a request to review the Tin Belly Dining Room at the Clarence coincided with meeting an old friend who just happened to have worked a stone&rsquo
• Seating was very comfortable and service was friendly and helpful
• Ordered the Mac and cheese which was absolutely delicious
• The fish and chips platter was very generous but too oily
