Catch Champagne Bar & Lounge - Andaz (City of London)

• Good vibe in the evenings from Wednesdays onwards with great attentive staff
• Down by busy Liverpool Street Station the Andaz Hotel is a sublime oasis of boutique restaurants
• It's big on both cocktails and food with seven different restaurants and bars within the confines of its 1884 building
• The hotel itself is a magnificent mix of the old and the new
• All the rooms though with impossibly high ceilings
• Throughout its many spaces directions are projected onto the floors and walls to help people about
• Started us out with a selection of charcuterie
• On their ditzy fish burgers which shone over and above the little beef burgers and the dwarf chicken burgers (although they were still good)
• The tasting finished with a variety of cheeses served on crackers and bread
• Andaz still has a long way to match the best restaurants presenting cheese boards in the capital at the moment
• Lemon tart with blueberry and honeycomb
• In between courses some cocktail making that involved grinding lychees and sugar into a large glass and flooding it with fine vodka
• First stop was the Catch Champagne Bar &
• A huge room with giant mirrors and an open &lsquo
• A fitting location to seek solace and comfort in a quiet drink (or four) with both friends and colleagues
• The place was nearly empty but the tables and bar were pristine and gleaming
• The bartenders were young and pretty young ladies who happily took my order and were willing to split the champagne orders into two smaller portions so we could both sample more options
• The signatures were pricy at the £
• The Shoreditch Cocktail was my favourite a mix of Apricot Brandy and Champagne
• The Brick Lane was Pascaline's favourite with a mixture of Amaretto
• The Bellini was sweet and smelled delicious could have been a perfume
• The Shoreditch (my favourite) was just the right combination of brandy and Champagne and would I reckon be perfectly enjoyed by a toasty fireplace
• We had several good mouthfuls of deliciousness each albeit the portion is better for one person
• The terrine had some of the best consistency that Pascaline had ever tasted
• I particularly found the mushrooms were lovely and tasty
• Personally I find these prices steep and was disappointed to see that the restaurant tacked on a service charge of 12.5% to the bill
• It would be nice with a group of girlfriends for a very special occasion
• Open until midnight (Monday) and until 1AM (Tuesday Saturday) with a DJ night on Fridays from 8pm onwards

• The Andaz Hotel is super easy to find
• I decided to jiggle it up a bit with some not so nice pre Christmas juice

• My favourite part of Catch Champagne Bar and Lounge at the Andaz Hotel was the atmosphere
• What mattered to us was the fun drinks
• The night began at the Catch champagne bar and lounge with a champagne and canapé
• T help but be in awe of the grandness of the location as I tucked into the charcuterie boards and delightful finger food on offer (which included a terrine topped with pea puree which was awesome)
• This grand room was historically used as a Masonic temple and a meeting place for the elite
• Our next stop took us through to the Eastway brasserie (a light filled dining room with clean lines and open kitchen) for a caprahina masterclass and even more nibbles
• Three flavours were on show tonight (the original variety
• Cheeseburger sliders and a grilled sirloin steak) was spot on and has got be salivating at the prospect of coming back for a real meal
• The place is fine but the service is below average
