Carmen (Clapham)

• The food is reasonably priced and it is good tapas for that price
• Usually paella takes the longest time to make and is one of the most expensive dishes in any Spanish restaurant
• Their Champinones al ajillo (stir fried mushrooms in garlic and parsley sauce) is one of their best tapas
• Pimientos del piquillo is a good non vegetarian tapas to try
• First came the breaded aubergine that came with a nice chutney
• I don't know how they did it but the aubergine was really light and fluffy
• We also had a spinach and chickpea dish which was alright but didn't have any distinct flavours
• Next came the pulpo which was pieces of octopus on olive oil mash
• This sounded like it was delicious on the menu but was a bit of a let down
• The mash had a nice texture but was a bit bland
• The tapas here is not the best tapas in London but you can have a nice meal here which is reasonably priced
• A nice place with a buzzing atmosphere
• I had the lamb chops which were fine if not a little dry
• The service and staff were great and the whole seating arrangements were all comfortable
• Carmen Bar De Tapas is a cute and cozy Spanish restaurant serving tapas plates and paella
