Buenos Aires Argentine Steakhouse (Wimbledon)

• The quiet candlelit place is perfect for a date without being too pretentious
• The second reason is because the waiter didn't know what we ordered
• Buenos Aires in Wimbledon is a decent steak house with a good selection of meat and wine on offer
• It arrives on a slate tile with 3 very different
• Cooked just right and the black pudding in particular is slightly grainy and full of flavour
• I chose the charrasco de lomo for my steak medium rare with a side salad and blue cheese sauce
• The steak was perfectly cooked and just the right size at 12oz for my hearty appetite and is served with a sprinkle of pink salt
• They have an impressive selection of wines and a sub section devoted entirely to the Argentinian Malbec which is great to see
• We went for the Casa Marguey which is extremely smooth and the perfect companion to the meal
• The restaurant itself is all dark wood interior
• Candle lit tables and period photographs on the wall and is an ideal location for an intimate rendezvous
• All in all not the best steak I've ever eaten but by no means the worst either and a solid 3.5/5
• Having stumbled across Buenos Aires Argentine Steakhouse (Wimbledon) whilst looking for a late lunch spot for a family reunion we were pleasantly surprised
• Lunch service was long over so we were the only guests in
• Means I can't comment on usual service ours was impeccable
• The calamari was perfectly crisped without over cooking and the batter light
• The steaks were all cooked as requested and the cuts delicious
• Extra chimichurri was also provided

• Nice cozy environment as the Wimbledon brunch is quite small
• Steaks were well cooked but everything else was more 'quite good'
• Chicken Milanese was v dry and rubbish ketchup which is always disappointing
